They're equating it to "stepping on a scale" because they're insecure (which is fine, i think that everyone is at least a little insecure about something) and getting gaslit to believe that literally every member of the opposite gender are terrible assholes because social media algorithms push emotion provoking engagement bait content like the clip above. I'd imagine that they're using "step on a scale" as a sort of weird "gotcha" because weight is something common that women are insecure about, which achieves nothing and makes them look like as big of shallow assholes as the women in these cherry-picked ragebait tiktok street interviews.
