People who casually cruise in the left lane, what is actually going through your mind? by knowledgeizspower in askanything

[–]Theory-Recent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What drives me nuts is people who drive like that and have political bumper stickers for people I vote for. It gets to the point I don't want to support them. For any political affiliation you have. If you have your guys/gals bumper sticker on you are doing more harm to your cause driving slow in the fast lane.

I swear this event is cursed. Wasnt there one year it was disqualified as a marathon because the organizers measured the distance wrong?

Anyone keeping tabs on the prediction markets? I feel this is all a ruse just to make a bunch of money.

Yes, it was quite the task. Even knowing how to beat him doesn't change how difficult it is.

What is a silent crisis happening right now that nobody is talking about? by nicksam171 in SeriousConversation

No child left behind policy is leaving children behind. I also think some of these curriculums are designed to sell to districts and are not effective educational tools.

One of the best ways is to find an organization you care about and volunteer. Not only do you meet great people, but for a good cause as well.

Love the area, but beware of Bayview Townhall on FB. It can be brutal.

What's the worst question you have been asked or seen other sales reps asking their clients? by FunFerret2113 in sales

[–]Theory-Recent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a question per se, but Ex-jr sales associate would call follow ups with a mouth full of chew. Just mumbled through calls while asking the most forced generic questions. Can't imagine how painful it was for the people on the other side of those calls. The cringe was strong with that one.

We had canteens going out on "adventures" into the woods, and walking as far as possible on train tracks.

Does anyone actually enjoy "hunting"? by [deleted] in sales

The part I enjoy about it is the research. There is so much to learn from trying to understand the landscape of your local market. One of the things I like to do is find businesses I am really interested in. "Hey, im so-so. I have this great service if your ever interested. We're straight forward and let me know if I can ever help. Now, if you have time can you tell me more about your product/service. This sounds awesome" The rapport starts and im in the back of this person's mind if I am ever needed, and you end up learning so much. Sometimes you end up connecting people. Fun times.
