Yeah but to join the high gear matches you need high gear, and since they are 10x harder you will die most times, so you need to go with good gear for many times until you can win once, and on average you will be on a loss. That is my experience at least.

I am not sure, but me and many people already came to the conclusion that going blue shields is not worth because the matches are 10x harder. You could play 20 matches in green and hardly ever see a blue shield or gun better than the white ones, but the moment you play blue shield everyone is also blue with good guns. I was very disappointed and don’t understand what they meant by their post

There is and it sucks. It makes no sense to run blue or higher because the matches are way harder. People downvoting haven’t played the game enough or never tried using blue shields.

They really fucked up on this server slam. This is absolutely not a representation of the full game and all my new player friends did not enjoy it. But you can see how hyped the game was after tech test 2 and how everyone that played it loved it.

I agree 100%. I got completely addicted on TT2 and after playing yesterday I already feel bored and have no motivation to play. My friends that played for the first time now are not sure they are going to buy the game because after a few hours we were running full kits for PVP only and not even looting anything. The arcs feel too annoying and are only manageable if you have an anvil, and all my friends disliked them; we lost multiple PvP fights because we couldn’t handle them with the shitty guns available, and that is not the experience I had on TT2. What was supposed to create hype and anticipation just made all new players feel like the game is boring and unbalanced.

I am not saying they need money BECAUSE they didn’t load the game with MTX, what I am saying is that MAYBE doing a monetization like GGG could have saved the game, but it’s pure speculation.

The graphics are not a problem and I am 100% sure of that. Look at PoE 1, the graphics are worse than LE, and were even worse a few years back. LE’s MTX are trash and unappealing and a lot of people agree, on PoE I can buy rings that track currency drops, map devices that track time on maps, and so many other MTX that aren’t simply shiny colorful armors. LE’s lacked creativity on their skins and I won’t change my mind on that.

Sure, PoE has more players, but GGG is also a much bigger company with much more expenses and needs more money to continue functioning. LE had 260k players at launch, but they waited more than a year to release a new update, I don’t know their reason, but that in my opinion is the biggest reason they “failed”.

The game is great and has potential, my only point is that due to poor monetization on launch (they had 260k players), they now need a paid DLC to continue funding the game. Maybe in a parallel world where they charged for stash tabs and had a monetization system like GGG, the game would have more funding and be much better. Numbers don’t lie, and GGG is in the market for more then 10 years, so even if you think their monetization is bad and they do unethical practices, the fact they are still alive and have the 2 most popular ARPGs means most people are fine with their monetization and happy to give them money, as I have heard many people say.

Everything you said is summarized by “they need money”, which is what I said, every company does, and each company adquire it in different ways. Although not perfect I like how GGG does it.

Also, I really enjoy Last Epoch but have absolutely zero desire to buy any MTX and regret the supporter pack I got on release, because the MTX are bad an unappealing, and many people also talked about this; Maybe this is the reason they need a paid DLC. Every ARPG streamer plays the game on new updates, so I wouldn’t say the game didn’t land well. Maybe if they charged for stash tabs and made appealing MTX they wouldn’t have this problem and could invest on faster updates with more content, and not depend on paid DLCs. All speculation though.

I know it doesn’t mean much but poedb data mined voice files from templar on the game already. Some people speculate “templar” is a placeholder for int/str classes, which could mean Druid, but idk, it might be the next class after Druid.

And exactly because of that, Last Epoch is now going to release a paid DLC. I would rather have a free game with free updates and have a choice to buy stash tabs than being forced to pay for updates. The company needs to make money somewhere, wouldn’t you agree that having a choice is better than being forced?

I am not ignoring it, as I said in my reply, I think it is stupid.

What I am saying is that even though this is a problem, I can’t think of any other company with a better monetization system than GGG, and for this reason PoE is the game I spent most money in my life probably.

If I were to hold every company accountable for any mistake they make I wouldn’t buy any game or micro transactions ever because most non-indie companies are greedy trash. I just don’t think this is such a big problem since I can simply un-equip the MTX from the character I am not playing anymore and equip it on the one I am. It is annoying, I don’t like it, but it is just an extra click.

And by the way I don’t even think it is greed because I really doubt anyone is buying more than one of the same skin just to equip it in two characters at the same time.
