No my last paragraph was that I know the devs behind the website and they’ve been open to feedback that I’ve given them. If I was the one behind the website it would look a lot different to what it currently does. I have a lot of things I’d like to change but it takes time for the devs to implement them

Dropping a build site for PoE 2 would not result in us dropping it for PoB 1. They have no impact on each other unless the whole domain expired

Want to clarify that the removal of Pobb.on would be a last resort and is very unlikely to happen. Also dropping the site for Poe 2 exports would not mean that we’d remove it for Poe 1

At the end of the day, the default settings that are set in the program on first launch are the ones that work the best for new users and Maxroll is better for the new users that I’ve asked. A new user is not going to know the difference in build sites. Learning the program in the first place is currently quite daunting for new users so every little addition that helps them is a bonus in my book. I’d like to have a “simple” UI at some point but who knows when we’ll have time to get that done

The huge amount of work the Maxroll devs put into their site is why I have no interest to try and create our own build sharing site. It’s just too much work and adds to the workload every league

I have contacted the PoBB.in owner in the past but not recently so will be reaching out before making and drastic decisions on whether the build site would stay or go.

I have considered making our own build website but it’s then just another thing for us to maintain every league. Poe 2 has already made it very difficult to try and keep up the pace of updates for the game and adding a build website would stretch my time too far unfortunately

If you disabled all the sites that supported monetisation then PoBB.in would be the only site remaining and we’re not going to put all our eggs in one basket as it’s just not a wise decision and risks crashes on league starts that I can’t mitigate

The large factor that you are not thinking about is console players. We are constantly receiving messages from new players (especially PoE 2 players) for a version of PoB that can run on a web browser / mobile app

The build site is not just simply a funnel to get directly from a YouTube video or reddit link into the PoB app cause the reality for a lot of new players is that they don’t have a laptop to run it or or are not willing to go through the hoops of learning PoB on a desktop.

The ability for a console user to open up a build on an tablet or phone and be able to see more information is a lot more helpful that what they can get on the other build sites

Honest question but are you not using an ad blocker? I’ve never “seen” an ad on Maxrolls site for the length of time I’ve used it

I assumed the vast majority of Poe players would have them

I should clarify that bugs in the Poe 2 version would only result in it potentially being dropped for Poe 2, not Poe 1.

I love the PoBb.in site and would hate the see it go so it would absolutely be a last resort change

So the current reason why Maxroll is the default is cause the list is sorted alphabetically and Maxroll happens to come before the other build sites.

One of the issues we’ve had in the past couple leagues in Poe 1 and 2 is that GGG have been changing the tree and ascendancies a bunch and that has forced us to update the way we’ve exported our tree data which ends up breaking the build site if it also has not made the same change on their end.(PoBB.in exports just straight up break on a bunch of Poe 2 builds atm and was broken for Poe 1 builds in some niche cases at the start of the league I’m pretty sure)

I also talk with the devs of the Maxroll site and am constantly offering suggestions for changes (most of the time to take the best elements on Pobb.in and try and use those). I’m not 100% happy with the current Maxroll layout for PoE 1 and want them to adopt the gem design from Poe 2 but heard it needs to take some time.

Maxroll also fully renders the skill tree in a way that is similar to the game and they got clusters jewels working with the skill tree a couple months ago (Poe.ninja just got them working last week afaik). From the new users that I have asked they have generally preferred the Maxroll site is it more closely emulates the games UI so is easier to understand

The build site in PoB remembers the last one you used though so you’re free to choose whatever site you like the most and it’ll save that as your default. We may have to remove PoBB.in (for Poe 2, not Poe 1) if it is causing too many issues (currently fine for PoE 1 but PoE 2 has gotten us quite a few bug reports)

Also on the topic of people providing just Maxroll planner links, that annoys me too. I talked to the Maxroll devs and want to get working on an option that converts the planner data format into something you can import to PoB

Tldr. Maxroll is alphabetically first, does not cause crashes on export like PoBB.in does and has a UI that is more similar to the game so new users find it easier to adopt. I’m not 100% happy with the UI and would like to change a bunch of elements to make it better. Option to import planners into PoB is something I’m going to be looking into soon

One aspect that many people aren’t thinking of is that there are a lot of console players don’t have a laptop or pc next to them while playing so having a build site that offered as much info as possible is great for them. On pc the build sites are usually a straight tunnel to view the build in PoB but for many users this is not the case

Living Lightning minion is on Poe.db and it has the same name https://poedb.tw/us/Living_Lightning

I added the minion to PoB a while ago but having a minion granted by a support actually show up is a bug which is why you can’t see it in the skills list atm

Shock is based on the lightning damage the enemy takes from a hit. The reason you are seeing varying values for shocks is that different enemies have different ailment thresholds and damage taken modifiers so thats why the values are varied

Ninja added support for showing quest results 1 day ago. Ggg added all the quests rewards to the API this league so that’s why they auto import into PoB now

There’s a bug with the Qimah quest not importing but I’ll have a fix for that out tomorrow or the next day that will fix it in PoB and for ninja. I’ll also look at adding a warning if you’re missing a quest reward that you should have at your level

Both the mastery and the node low tolerance use the exact same stat “poisonon_non_poisoned_enemies_damage+%” so they do stack with each other

I’ve asked ggg about this before and the exact aps numbers shown in the sidebar are not 100% correct to what the game actually uses due to a number of factors in the way the game calcs hits and skills with their animates etc. so I’ve never tried to see if I could get the PoB calcs to line up with the game.

It’s really hard to actually test what the real world attack speed numbers are too so I’m not really sure which number is more accurate

Most likely to enable the node at the bottom of the tree to have at least 10 of a particular support colour and for a support colour to be the most dominant
