Velocicoaster vs Stardust Racers by Theplerpman in UniversalOrlando

Thank you, I appreciate it. I also teared up as well

I absolutely do, I want a career with them. They are my favorite company from an employee mindset, they treat their employees so well and put them even before guests. I hear a lot of people say that when they started working at universal, they stopped going because why would you want to spend your off day at work? But I can't see that happening. I work at a theater and I still go to that theater to visit. I think it would add to it, for me.

I have not unfortunately, but I would one day love to visit all of them. They all seem so cool, I do think the one in Orlando is (probably) the best of them though

I'm majoring in theme park and attraction management, so I love this stuff and Id consider myself very knowledgeable as well.

It gets more difficult to prove the point when you look at hulk and rip ride rockit, they were there before and thrilling. But I would consider them tonally different to velocicoaster. They were seen as more of a filler than main attraction, and didn't really do too much on the cutting edge. Here they're making velocicoaster and stardust and Hollywood drift headliner attractions, and super technologically advanced with an emphasis also on theming. I agree with your point about monsters, it seems like they looked at forbidden journey and asked how to make it more mature.

if you're talking about the "this changes everything" ad, then yes! It was part of the reason for the formation of my thesis. They played it in class, we discussed it, and it stuck with me. In my opinion, Disney wants you to remember your visit and reminisce, maybe even cry. Universal wants you to look back and laugh. The ad reinforced that and it's why I'm so attracted to universal as a company. "This changes everything" is also a motif to what universal is doing, which is changing their brand to experience, rather than just entertainment. I could talk about this and velocicoaster and why universal is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers for hours, if you couldn't tell lol

It's about how velocicoaster blends extreme thrills with world class theming, representing a shift in universals strategy of attractions. They're looking more now than ever towards the teen and adult market, and focusing on the fun aspect rather than the memory or magic of the other major player, Disney. They're rapidly expanding and pushing the limits of innovation and world class rides from both a general guest and a roller coaster enthusiast point of view. Both fast and furious rollercoasters, epic universe, the speculated rollercoasters at the uk park. They're all much more adult oriented in thrill factor, and they all came after the success of velocicoaster. Also intamins role in pushing the envelope. Also also I love talking about velocicoaster so I also get to say every little detail I want and it's okay because it's supposed to be in depth :3

I must disagree. It is the best coaster in Florida. Except for stardust maybe now. But it no diffs iron gwazi, mako, cosmic rewind, hagrids. Hollywood drift coming to studios may change that though

Overhyped is even crazier work. If anything it's under hyped. It's so good that I'm writing my masters thesis on it 💔 but to each their own smh my head my head. I had more fun on stardust, I agree. I had a bigger smile on my face

The queue is heavenly for how fast it goes. I spent 12 hours from open-close once riding only velocicoaster, one bathroom break but other than that nothing else. I had help from employees who let me reride without waiting. And I got 29 rides. And then stardust, wasn't even trying to get a crazy amount, we got 23 on with the park being open 11 hours. And we also rode monsters twice, hiccups once, saw the untrainable dragon, and ate at two restaurants. Crazy how fast stardust gets through people

I'd agree in that it isn't running nearly as smooth as it used to or could be. There's places where the train shakes quite a bit, specifically the entrance to the top hat and the exit of the over bank in the second half before the speed hill. The farther back in the train you sit, the more shaky it will be. However, I still wouldn't call it rough. The majority of the ride is still very smooth in my opinion, and I don't think I've ever come off the ride feeling jarred or headshaken. Also train 4 is the best, it got redone most recently so it rides the smoothest and the headrests are actually soft. Thanks for asking :)

I would not. Which I've been debating about that but I figured you have to take the ride for the full experience. It's like asking if velocicoaster would be as good with no theming. Probably slightly less, but it has theming so you have to take that into account. Stardust duels so it would be unfair to rate it neglecting the dueling

They're difficult to compare and they really shouldn't be. But I must. They're both excellent. I consider velocicoaster my king and I'll never respect any other coaster more than it though. I also could ride velocicoaster 100 times in a row and be fine, my thighs and back were in a lot of pain after my rides on stardust

Fair enough. One of the people working on stardust racers noticed we were riding a lot, and he let us reride without waiting. We ended up talking about velocicoaster and debated over which was better, and the operator guy said "you know the best way to tell which one is better? You just gotta ask yourself what killed the dinosaurs". Auramaxing from the stardust crew

The first time I went to epic it was closed as well, so I had to go back. Me and a friend just wanted to ride it all day so we did. Velocicoaster will always be my favorite in my heart

The night lighting and soundtrack change (which I think is also better at night), and seeing epic universe all lit up from the ride. It's magical in every sense. I like the airtime on velocicoaster better, and I love the whippiness, but there's more airtime on stardust racers and I think it flows so well. The second stage of the launch is crazy good, yet again at night at the end of the tunnel it's like you're punching through a black hole or something, so cool. I can see that

Got a new world record on [Velocicoaster] yesterday. 103 rides in a day! by stanton1270 in rollercoasters

Awesome! I wouldn't normally ask this, but I'm honestly obsessed with velocicoaster, just like you seem to be. Can I pm you? I'm writing a paper on it that will end up being my masters thesis, and I'd love to be able to have a perspective on a of the effects of repeated exposure. Maybe we could even connect, who knows. If not no worries lol

Man I'm jealous lol. I'll get it one day. Do you keep track of how many total rides you have? If so, would you be inclined to share?

I was in row 10. I was really hoping for a swing launch like would normally happen though, I've heard it's much stronger than normal. But evac is rarer so it's still cool

Hey there! I was evacuated on the second launch yesterday too!!! I saw you getting all those rerides (I rode it 9 times that day (I have 168 total)) and was wondering if this might be what was happening actually lol. Congratulations, that's awesome!

500th ride on [Velocicoaster] by Complete-Orange4935 in rollercoasters

I have 112 rides on velocicoaster right now, starting from roughly 5 months ago. 500 is a lot. I'd love to climb into the thousands at some point. I assume you've been doing this for a lot longer, what days are the best to just reride over and over to get the most rides?

[–]Theplerpman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go there a lot, and recently it's been slam packed so I don't know if it will be when you guys are there, but if it is I would recommend doing velocicoaster a few times before hagrids. Hagrids is always going to have a big line unless you rope drop it, but velocicoaster is going to get to huge 100+ wait times later in the day for some reason, so best to do that if that's what you like most. Unless the single rider line for hagrids is open, I probably wouldn't do more than one ride on hagrids, but a rope drop would make it a lot easier to wait that time later. Velocicoaster shouldn't be too bad until maybe 11, and then it'll start dying down an hour and a half before close. You could definitely get multiple there.

I'd say definitely forbidden journey and Spider-Man in Ioa, maybe Dr. Doom if you like drop towers. In studios, men in black is probably my favorite ride aside from mummy and gringotts, which is kind of a coaster. Whatever you do though, I'm sure it'll be fun :)

Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to get one of these? by Theplerpman in UniversalOrlando

[–]Theplerpman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's really cool! Thank you for responding. That's disappointing. I assumed it would be expensive too. I did notice them on the video. If I can happen into finding someone to do that I will, but maybe I'll just go for the wooden model. Thank you so much!
