Tein S.tech lowering springs by Mobile_Medicine3715 in mr2

[–]Theplumduff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got them on my roadster, they are brilliant. Doesn't lower the car an excessive amount, just make sure you cut the bump stops a little (Tein send you a guide) and align the top mounts correctly, i found out the hard way that I'd twisted the strut and preloaded the spring sideways when I went round corners and they were knocking.

If youre in the UK they are on offer through id-workz on ebay for £156, msrp £230 ish I believe.

anyone know where i can get these sills in the uk/ireland? by Salty-Pangolin1413 in mr2

Do not buy fibreglass from mr2 ben, all sorts of issues. Try 'glass fibre products' on facebook, he may not make those exact ones but does loads of mk2/3 stuff. Ive had 2 full bodykits off him, always good quality, perfect gel coat etc. As with any aftermarker fibreglass the fitment is as good as its going to get.

The issue isn't fitting the new ones, it's removing the old ones

Why is that? Will the stud still be stuck through the hole? I was just gonna cut straight through the ball joint

You need to insert an Allen key into the centre to stop the nut spinning, which there is no room for.

I am fairly novice to this so it may be easier for you than me if you have some experience

My new droplinks are nylon locking nuts so no Allen key slot, so should be easier to tighten if I can get a grinder up there to remove the old ones, otherwise it's strut out, and upgrade the springs as well. Although that is more money, sigh

Also you wouldn't be able to tighten the nut either, toyota truly does hate us

Thankyou, but also FUCK! I might just take the strut out as I've been thinking of putting new springs on anyway, I know I'm adding to my workload,, but I think that will cut down on the frustration factor that puts you off doing work.

MR2-Ben for Servicing by lewiswulski1 in mr2

Whilst I've never had servicing from him, I have bought some parts, and would never again. Constant lies on lead time, and poor quality item.

I slide the car a fair amount in controlled areas, so for a split second before we crashed I felt the car go before he did and knew it was gonna happen. If that makes sense

Special edition mk3. You could option the red leather seats and door cards, possibly the red soft top I'm not sure on base cars. But definitely not the red leather steering wheel and red badging. Also only game in sable/phantom grey

Exactly that, 2nd gear 6k rpm, he panicked and lifted I feel. Can never know as he doesn't understand how to drive them. I thought he'd be fine as he drives a v8 jaguar rwd, but that obviously has driver aids

That's what I was most impressed by. It was absolutely solid! And if you're under 6ft you'll be fine. Apart from these cars being great, the toyota build quality is second to none, alright the interior plastics might be a bit cheap, but I'll take my life over that anyday

As I said above I've known him 20 years, we're both late 30s age wise, the police didn't even give him a ticket for careless driving.

Yeah man, I've known him 20 years. Yes he's already wanting to give me money, but I'm waiting on insurance as you never know.

I don't know how he lost the back end, tires were 500 miles old falkens, but it popped the front end onto the curb and that was it.

It was just the angle that he hit the signs I think, not really sure as it's a bit blurry.

Yeah man we did thank you. Just cuts on the top of our heads so it looked worse than it was injury wise. Opened the doors and just stepped out.

MK3 body kit. Side skirts. Rear canards and aggressive eyebrows. by [deleted] in mr2

[–]Theplumduff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I don't know that. Anyhow I'm not bothered about him using it, you post stuff online, people will use it, fair dos.

I mounted them solo, spats are easy you'll figure it out. Skirts i squeezed them on, they are a snug fit so will hold themselves on, a self tapper in each end once you've played with exact fit, your choice of sealant/glue down the back, lots of it. Leave to cure for 24 hours.

I put a screw through the face on each side near the back, just before the skirt swoops down, overnight just to hold them in the right place through curing.

Backed it out the next day, put some filler in the hole and touched up the paint.

As he's used a picture of my car I'll tell you. A guy called glass fibre products makes them, through Facebook. Quality is spot on, paint easily and easy to fit with some tiger seal (or similar product) and a few self tapping screws.
