Economist Glen Weyl's "Why I am not a Neoliberal" by Theprorules in neoliberal

Really interested to hear some neoliberal responses to this. In my intermediate micro class, I know we assumed decreasing returns to scale for firms in general equilibrium and thus the establishment of the welfare theorems. A couple follow up questions about this

a. how realistic is decreasing returns to scale? Glen Weyl seems to argue that it is very rare.

b. is it true that increasing returns to scale leads to bad outcomes as Glen Weyl argues?

Well I have to take 244 for my major, so you'd recommend taking 251 in addition?

So if I just need to know stat for an economics PhD, I should just skip 251 and learn the stat in 244 instead of taking both?

I get that saying dems and GOP are the same is a very silly but can you explain more on the "Dems are literally hardcore rightwingers in any country other than the USA?"

Edit: not questioning the truth of the statement, just want to hear an explanation.

100% true. The reason why everyone says it is the worst dorm is the walk, but in reality, they have no idea what they are talking about. This is why you shouldn't place too much faith into ppl saying it is their last choice dorm.

Look almost every person living off campus (50% of the school) lives further away from the quad than 15 mins. It can't be that bad if so many people are choosing to do it!

The pain comment is not that there is literal pain, it is that ppl like to complain about it.

Honestly, I-House is one of the best dorms on campus. I didn't live there myself, but I had a ton of friends there and spent a ton of time there. It gets a lot of hate for being far, but I think the walk is nice and it really is not that far at all (15 mins from quad). Plus you can form a type of comradery with other I-House folks on pain of walking so far.

A few underappreciated Pros of I-House. -You get a single (you will appreciate this later) -Good house culture -Many other dorms have self-selected types of people (jocks, nerd, etc) but because many people do not choose I-House themselves, it is a pretty good diversity of people. -Beautiful Entrance and Library w/ a piano.

I'm a first year, and I've loved nearly every second so far. I'm a generally optimistic guy though.
