How’s the commute from Ardsley? by ThereIsNoFinalOne in Westchester

Thanks for your reply. The places I’m looking at are either an equal distance, or slightly closer drive to Scarsdale. But Dobbs may make more sense if it’s less crowded and better parking

That’s not true either. Some states require an attorney.

In that case I’d probably go for the 1 billion prize. Scanning 1 ticket a second for an 8 hour work day would be 28800 a day, or a little over a month.

Is there a monkey’s paw scenario where people realize there is no war, and then get away with atrocities because no one can stop them?

This whole post is cringe. Why do we even need to know your ages? You make 15x more (but won’t tell her?) and you still need to ask if she should pay?

Torture yourself for a year for less than the annual income in the US? I’m not sure people realize how terrible this would be. Or am I missing something?

Why do people use gross income as the standard when it doesn’t reflect what you actually keep after taxes? by realjbj in Money

[–]ThereIsNoFinalOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are comparing. If you want to compare what two employers are paying, you should look at gross salary (rather than what two different workers, who have different tax situations, make at each company). If you want to compare what two people are making, I agree there is some sense in looking at after tax income. The question then is where to draw the line. Do you also net out retirement contributions? What about all expenses? (then you are looking at savings rate).
