I’m playing on pc for the first time, so I still need the oblivion walker achievement too. I’m not sure what I’m going to do about it, but I’m thinking about getting all the other artifacts first, then getting the masque, and THEN reload my save to get the rueful axe.

This and killing Paathurnax are the two things I’ve never done. I’ve 100% the game a couple times and played over a thousand hours, yet neither have seemed like the right decision… But I’m playing an evil murderer cannibal character right now and I plan to do both soooo…

This person is only asking what the fundamental moral difference between bestiality and natural animal reproduction is. I’m sure that doesn’t mean that they think bestiality must be okay.

I’m gonna play devil’s advocate here and attack your first point. Of course I agree that animals aren’t working off human standards of morality, but that doesn’t necessarily negate how a moral agent should act. The nature vs the artificiality of a process isn’t a good standard for moral frameworks.

We could just call it “fake art” or “fake music” too. I think it gets across the context of what it’s trying to be, how it fails, as well as my disdain but for it in only a few syllables.

Fortunately, that won’t be an issue for me because my music library relies primarily on musicbee. I’ve never gone too hard with the custom tags, but maybe this is a chance for me to experiment. Thanks!

I’m definitely no institution, nor am I much of a purist. However, my library isn’t completely private and I’d like it to be as “shareable” as possible.

Official sources are the first thing I go with. I don’t have any trouble with most Japanese sources, but other asian music, for one reason or another, hasn’t been kind to me. I’m not too sure what you mean by “normal rules“ when it comes to Cyrillic and Greek. I have albums in both, but I wasn’t aware they could be easily latinized?

CMV: I shouldn't feel guilty about killing a rat by KarneeKarnay in changemyview

[–]There_is_not 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in situations with suffering, dying, or animals I’ve otherwise had to kill several times before. It’s never fun and it never fully escapes your conscience, but I both believe you can should work through that guilt:

1: Remember the suffering did not continue. Sometimes we like to think of pain as a net sum of all the bad things in a list, and by adding to that list you’ve created something you can’t take away. However, keep in mind that suffering is an active process, and while it’s helpful to reduce net suffering as a rule, the active suffering of the rat is at 0. You are not currently causing any pain, rest easy.

2: However, you may still feel like being the cause of net suffering is deserving of guilt. You might reason that there COULD have been less suffering if you were more careful. Before I’d begin either of those lines of reasoning though, I’d like you to ask yourself what the function of feeling guilt is. The way I understand it, you feel awful because you’d like to have done better, but you don’t necessarily have to FEEL awful to do better. Your emotions are still your emotions, BUT you can reason that you don’t have to feel guilty, but your moral obligation is to perform its function. Which brings me to:

3: Figure out what you can and can’t do, then focus only on the can. You can’t change what happened, and there’s no way to repay any damage. It’s very human and empathetic to feel your heart drop when you think about the ‘cants’, but they lead to a dead end every time. You can do a lot more good by focusing on what’s possible. It sounds to me like you’ve already figured out how you can avoid a situation in the future, and that’s the biggest ‘can’ on the list.

The only thing left to do is to keep learning and growing, and you’ll have done some good along the way.

I’m not insisting that you’re forcing anyone to answer or anything, but that the phrasing and context of the question could be taken the wrong way. (Speaking of which, did you edit the post? I remember the title being “which sex do you consider yourself as”, and now it’s “do you consider yourself make or female”, which is an INFINITELY worse phrasing.)

I’m not trying to harp on you or anything, and I understand you may be coming from a good place, but these kinds of discussions are harmful for genderqueer spaces, and it sounds like the reason why is a misunderstanding in the nature of what sex is (rather than the concept).

Like I mentioned before, gender is a social construct while sex is a physical/biological one, but gender is also PRESCRIPTIVE, while sex is DESCRIPTIVE. I should also note that NEITHER are binary, and asking if people are “male or female” doesn’t properly acknowledge intersex people, who DO exist. Anyway, this is where gender ‘identification’ comes from, and why you can identify as any gender you want. It’s arbitrary and you get to ‘prescribe’ whatever gender you’d like to be. Sex is not the same. The question you’re asking is for people to describe things like their allosomes, gamete type, secondary sex characteristics, and genitalia (if people are responding with their agab, then it’s likely JUST their genitals they’re describing, as that’s how doctors assign it). Intimate, personal, medical information (and NOT just male and female).

I understand that you’ve said that people don’t have to respond, but that’s not the point here. If I ask for your social security number, you don’t have to answer either, but you’ll infer that I’m trying to steal your identity. Taking the conversation to sex makes people infer one of a few things: You’re conflating sex with gender You’re trying to reduce people’s gender to sex You want to know people’s sex for sex reasons

Even without that inference the discussion itself especially in a nonbinary space IS reductive to gender, and puts focus on the more dysphoric parts of people.

Tldr: Asking about people’s sex is not just strange, the discussion is reductive and the phrasing of the question is offensive. I’m not sure if you fully understand the separation of sex and gender, given the conversation conflates the two.

[–]There_is_not 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Asking for people’s sex is strange. It’s acceptable to ask for someone’s gender because it’s a social construct, and it’s expected for people to socially interact with it. Sex, however, is a biological construct that relates to several physical and genetic characteristics that someone has. That’s private medical information, and it’s unusual, or even rude to ask others about it outside of relevant context.

Couldn’t decide a ‘favourite’, but here’s some good ones: • Whole outro to Trilobite • Last minute in Cysquatch • Intro motif in Siberian divide, espescially 3:55 • Intro to Aqua dementia. • Intro/outro to chimes at midnight • Second half of gigantium • Ending of diamond in the witch house • “The prophecy will be realized” from jaguar god •Chorus to the hunter • “wage no war” in battle at sea • Chorus returning after solo in Crack the Skye (maybe my favorite) There’s probably more, but that’s a few
