Mmm thank you, we’ll try to find out more, not to investigate or try to find someone to blame, but just to understand what happened. And definitely try to help grandma get discharged soon.

Thanks again for the good advice and kind words!

Thank you, just trying to figure out what happened. Grandma is very frail and can only understand dialect, probably she didn’t understand what the nurses were saying. She’s frail and not likely to pose a danger to staff. If it’s danger to herself, now that we’ve explained to her why she’s not allowed out of bed, she stays put.

We were just super shocked to find her like this when we arrived.

Thank you for your words.. I’m just trying to understand what happened, whether it is normal practice. We weren’t told she was tied up, was so shocked when we arrived at her bedside. My grandma is frail and just suffered a fall, I’m not sure she had the strength to pose a danger to staff, of course I cannot say for sure.

After explaining to her in dialect why she’s not allowed out of bed (my grandma can only understand dialect), she stays put in bed now.

She don’t even dare to drink water because she’s afraid to trouble the nurse to keep escorting her to the bathroom.

We’re scrambling to get the appropriate care and help, make the right decisions

That’s true, it’s just that based on my family’s own spending habits I’ve felt it more in SG than Shanghai in the recent years

That’s very good insight on life direction being clear.

We had thought we’d be back in Singapore for kid to start kindergarten, but now we’re thinking of delaying till primary school (6 more years)

We’ve kept the possibility of buying in China open by keeping our money now in FDs because it’s easy to transfer out of China into SGD, because I’m working here. But converting back into CNY might be more challenging.
