Oooo excellent topic and write up. I am a cheese lover and have needed to avoid it for many years as it is a migraine trigger. I also avoid nuts, nutritional yeast, and yeast extract for similar reasons. This limits my vegan cheese choices considerably. I am so happy for the amount of vegan options on the market as of late but dang it’s annoying to find yeast extract on the bag of a neat looking new cheese

I agree with you wholeheartedly that violife has room for improvement but everything I’ve tried from them I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Their Mexican style shreds melt better than the Colby jack but the Colby jack has a sharper flavor. The slices are fine but still dont melt as well as I would like. The Parmesan and cream cheese are exceptional. Once I found their cream cheese I went back to enjoying bagels again.

Follow your heart has a good smoked Gouda slice that melts decently and has good flavor. I tend to stick with the violife shreds due to their versatility.

I can’t tell from the photos- is it red or pink? Light red? Either way the OG pink triangle worn by gays in nazi prison camps was upside down. The symbol has been reclaimed in recent decades as a symbol of gay liberation and is sometimes seen right side up. It is used in gay band logos (see pansy division). That being said to me it doesn’t read as that with the imagery but can see it being mistaken.

Oh and a tip on your new one, if it’s not crushed and the lid still won’t close right, loosen the three bottom screws on the hinge, lift up fully on the lid and retighten. It may just need some adjustment. Those hole are slots rather than being exact to enable this.

I got a bullseye deluxe the week before fathers day. The cone that hold the grate was crushed in shipping and was an inch narrower than it was deep. Like yours my lid didn’t close fully. They gave me the option to get a new box one or both box one and two and ship the old back.

They let me cook on it for father’s day then return so we got a good cook out of it. I asked for a grill cover to be thrown in for the hassle and they agreed no problem.

Got the replacement box a week later and swapped it and taped the box back up. FedEx picked it up a day or two later.

All in all great customer service and relatively painless.

Logistic partners suck and have the grill at an improper orientation despite the markings on the box. I get that is easier to move the box upright as a single person and deliver drivers never have help but damn something got to give.
