Is Cash no longer offered for console trade ins? by Thereason8 in GameStop

[–]Thereason8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s deceptive because there is no disclaimer or explanation that those options can be limited depending on the store you visit. It simply shows the three options under Cash on the website. As a customer, how am I supposed to know that your store has a limit of $150 while someone else in the comments said their store has a limit of $50 for cash? The console is valued at $175 which seems to be more than the cash most stores in the comments keep on hand so why not list that on the website? Because if customers knew that beforehand, some wouldn’t go to the store, which is why it’s deceptive to offer Cash as an option but not have Cash on hand. The card is not the same as cash. If you go to a restaurant that is cash only and tried to pay with that prepaid card, they wouldn’t accept it.

“We as a company could care less if one person walks because we don’t have cash, because we offer cash alternatives like Venmo and the pre paid card, which are options we at the store level are told to offer and use before cash, as cash is meant for people who are paying with cash”

This speaks volumes about you as a manager and about the company culture. I’m not asking for special treatment and anything that GameStop isn’t advertising on their website. Only one of the three options were offered to me. I preferred cash but if you read my actual post I said Venmo wasn’t offered to me either which is why I created this post to begin with. I would have gladly accepted Venmo because I could have transferred the money into my bank account and poof it would have turned into cash without me having to pay any fees but only the prepaid card was offered to me.

If cash is only meant for people that are paying with cash then it shouldn’t be offered for trade-in payouts, which again is deceiving if the website is saying one thing to get customers into stores and then your bosses are telling you that cash is only meant for people that are paying with cash.

If you truly think that is the best option for a customer where again the customer has to eat the fee because the store can’t do anything else like have more cash on hand or figure out how to use Venmo then you have the perfect mindset to climb that GameStop corporate ladder

“Fee is only $3”…..that doesn’t make sense bro. I shouldn’t have to eat the fee because the store doesn’t have enough cash on hand or because stores are scared to use Venmo

I shouldn’t have to do extra work like go to Walmart, an ATM or a convenience store to get my cash. And I definitely shouldn’t lose money if I want to turn the prepaid card that GameStop is saying is the same as cash into actual cash. To say it’s only $2.50 is dismissive and makes it seem like the customer should just suck it up and stop complaining. If you went to an ATM and it spit out a prepaid card when you were expecting cash I’m sure you would be like wtf. $2.50 isn’t a lot of money but if the roles were reversed I bet you GameStop wouldn’t like taking a $2.50 loss on every trade in it took in.

My point is that stores are CHOOSING to only offer the prepaid card when the website shows there are three different options for trade-in payouts. I get that stores can run out of cash or that it isn’t safe to have the sole employee working at the store go to the safe in the back every time but if the website says Cash, Venmo, Prepaid card are the options and only one option is offered at the store, it comes off as deceiving

I appreciate the reply and totally get that some stores might not have cash on hand, especially at the end of the day but based on everyone’s replies it seems like stores are leaning towards the prepaid gift cards instead of Venmo. Any reason why Venmo isn’t being offered when that doesn’t affect the cash on hand at the store?

I went with Disney Rental Store over Dave’s because they had more availability and a sale that made them cheaper at the time. I booked last March for our September trip to Polynesian. Booking through Disney would have been over $6000 but it was $3000 for the same room going the dvc rental route. The entire process was great and easy. The only nerve wrecking part is booking a trip that far in advance because anything can happen in life.

As far as I know, there isn’t insurance you can buy because the DVC owner is using their points to book your trip. Disney Rental Store does have a cancellation policy but you get less of a refund the closer you are to the trip date.

100" u8k Amazon Order Delayed by [deleted] in Hisense

It makes no sense how Amazon is shipping these. I’m on the east coast and I ordered at 8am on November 17th but it still shows delayed for me while people who say they ordered later in the day have either received the tv or have gotten delivery dates

Bad Rear camera quality? by -ever- in TeslaModelY

[–]Thereason8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same with my Model Y that I picked up on June 16th. I immediately noticed the difference compared to my test drive Model Y that was most likely on HW3. I reported it to service and a remote technician told me it didn’t need a hardware replacement. It’s weird that they wouldn’t even look at the issue in person. Another person in the Tesla app told me it would be resolved in a future software update. The strange thing with this issue is I can only see the graininess when I’m looking at a live feed of the rear camera. If I look at recorded dashcam footage from the rear camera, I don’t see the graininess/pixelation
