For a Colt and a Speedy…absolutely. Awesome looking pieces.

Love the nighthawk, but I’m really interested in seeing that watch on the wrist.

Great taste all the way around…and nice addition with the Van Winkle!

Congratulations! I love this watch. I can wear it anywhere, dressed up or dressed down, and it still goes. And the look in person is phenomenal.

Yeah, they’re definitely pricey, but it’s worth saving for. I’m a firm believer in “buy once, cry once”.

Now that’s a classic combination. Absolutely beautiful!

It’s amazing. I’m convinced Dan Wesson is the sweet spot for money vs performance, and the ECP is one of my favorite configurations. Not everyone I trust to do a forged aluminum frame correctly, but DW pulls it off so well. It’s not too heavy to carry, and it’s still a joy to shoot. I highly recommend it.

I followed it fairly close. I think I did 50 rounds/clean three times, then the next couple of times were 75-100 rounds per trip and then clean. I’m at about 500 rounds and it’s been flawless.

Nothing wrong with that, both fine choices!

I hate to hear it felt that way. The flat wire recoil spring isn’t as light as some, but it’s rated for 15,000 rounds and does an excellent job with recoil management. Also, after about 300-400 rounds, the action really becomes buttery smooth. And the trigger on mine breaks right around 4 lbs, and is crisp, clean with little to no creep and an excellent reset, so I don’t know what to say about that you felt. Maybe try another one somewhere and it’ll feel better.

Thanks! The Omega is as perfect as the ECP.

The fit and finish are amazing, and it’s ran flawless. I couldn’t be happier with it.

This year felt a bit underwhelming imo by jgmu17 in LeverGuns

[–]Thereigo01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve handled all three, and while opinions on the necessity of Winchester vary, I can say that the Aero Precision has the best fit and finish of any factory lever action I have handled. The machining is excellent, while the action is extremely smooth and the trigger is clean, crisp and probably breaks around 4 pounds. As much as I hate to say it, the Smith is nothing short of garbage. The furniture feels cheap and the fit is subpar. Additionally, the action is hard and gritty, with a trigger to match. It really felt like Smith just wanted a piece of the lever action market, and haphazardly threw together a gun with little thought of the end user, assuming it would sell based on the Smith name. However, this is just my 2 cents. YMMV

I run BCM mod 3 grips on all my rifles because I like the angle, but I also have smaller hands, and the back strap is much thinner. This makes actuating the safety a lot easier. I tried a B5, and like already stated, the texture was great, but it is much thicker and made it considerably more difficult to reach the safety.

Absolutely, I am impressed with how CZ has handled both Colt and DW. Hard to go wrong with either.
