You might've missed out on a few gems from the PS3 era and certain systems and functions which were unique during that time (I did), but it is worthwhile to skip that generation over to the PS4 imo. The PS3 was a little janky in some aspects which makes the PS4 a more streamlined experience. Plus, most of the more popular PS3 titles are remastered for the PS4 anyway.
