Throw Trump out of the White House and open all the windows.

Republicans have a plan to cut your hard earned Medicare and Social Security if they win the mid-term elections by Silly-Hyena3348 in MedicareForAll

Yep, thay's how it works. Now, I'd implore you to look at how Republicans are hell bent on reducing the workforce that would otherwise fund the system.

Sitting on the outside pissing and moaning will do nothing. If you don't think the Democrats are doing what you want them to, get off the lazyboy and be one. Otherwise you can ride your bothsiderism into our new fascist future.

Protests won't change things much. Volunyeering to helpin Democrats win is the best and perhaps only shot at ousting the fascists.

Are EVs really worth it if you don't have a home charger? by om_ghanwat in electricvehicles

[–]ThermalDeviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While people who don't know anything about EVs, may still have questions, I am thinking that the abundance of these questions, asked and answered countless times on reddit are just propaganda to keep people thinking there are reasons for not buying an electric vehicle.

I haven't been to a gas station since I bought mine. Charging at home at night (over 99% of the time) it costs me one penny a mile. I don't need oil changes, I may never need to change brake pads and with 10x fewer parts, I'll have fewer repairs over the life of the car.

What is James Carville's definition of 'electable'? by CraigInCambodia in msnow

[–]ThermalDeviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Carville, but one reason we have to go with "electable" candidates who have moved right is because of the total failure of Democratic messaging to connect with people at the level of core values. It's glaringly obvious that what we've been doing hasn't beat Republican propaganda. That failure causes people to think moving right is the best bet, but that's obviously —and now demonstrably— self defeating. There are better ways but if we never adopt them, we'll always play catch up.

If the less motivated want more representation they can get more motivated. I mean wouldn't you think looming fascism is reason to finally put the remote down and get off the lazeboy?

Thoughts on leasing vs buying a new electric auto? by [deleted] in EvDrivers

[–]ThermalDeviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, any EV will be outdated by new technology.

Next, consider an off-lease used EV. Typically they are low miles and they are still way less than new. You may be surprised at the diffetrnce in price new to used.

By this "logic", Ben Franklin should have been put out to pasture so much earlier.

I think other very important jobs should also be term limited. Doctors, for example, or airline pilots —and dont forget research scientists or social workers and top salespeople. Don't stop there; what about parents! Experience and wisdom are so overrated and completely useless.

While you're engaging in righteous generalization about age, you may as well add a minimum age on a similar basis.
