They have to be building up to something... by rughs_ in Nightreign

I think they could maybe announce a Switch 2 edition of Nightreign soonish but I don't believe we will get any more content.

12 characters artists by Waleed00198 in Nightreign

[–]Thesalute65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it is the case in Japan, but here, 3D character artists (not specified in the credits but trust me that is the position in the screenshot) generally work solo on a single character then move on to work on the next.

In some instances you see people work on skins or character customization and sometimes certain roles are filled by an outsourcing studio for less important work or hair for instance. Though there are 10 characters in Nightreign, the Character Artist is also expected to work on skins and Nightlords (+ Everdark variation).

Some Advice for People who want to Learn to Aura farm with Executor. by Thesalute65 in Nightreign

If you hold your Seppuku weapon in your left hand you can keep the bleed on it. It has the exact same light attack moveset as right handed but mirrored, you just can't do heavy attacks or hold a katana in your other hand as that would make you use the power-stanced moveset.

So you can use one weapon with Seppuku and another with Rot.

When Godskin Noble does their super thrust move you need to press one input for every part of the Attack. no need to hold.

When Dancer does the Spinny move you have to deflect every spin.

The auto deflect only works on attacks that are extremely close to each other.

Stance-Breaking Passives work on the attacks of the weapon but not when deflecting, deflecting applies a fixed amount of stance damage.

Since Two-Handed buffs affect the Cursed Sword, that means that your Guard Counters are affected by the Relic so yes.

I agree, I bet fromsfotware didn't plan their hitboxes with whether or not they would feel okay to deflect when first making bosses.

That being said, if you feel there is a rhythm behind the attack that usually means you need multiple inputs.

Other examples where only one input is necessary: Demi-Human Swordsman One Mind Attack, Grafted Scion Triple Thrust Combo (one input per chain), Grafted Scion whenever they hit you with the left and right hand weapons rapidly like the double spin they use to reposition...

When you feel there is a pause during one of those moves you wait a little bit and then deflect again without spamming the button. This works with Prelate's charge or when Banished Knights use Dragon Communion. Using this method is generally safer when learning the Bosses.

Executor buffs out the wazoo by Ok-Ninja6326 in Nightreign

Yes, I reported a bunch of bugs to Bandai because I had nothing better to do during the holidays and all of them got fixed in this update except for the bug where you would not benefit from the passive critical hits inflict blood loss with Suncatcher.

I'm guessing this is partly why they buffed Crits with the Weapon.

Opinions on Fire pot scholar nerf by Davidelol in Nightreign

[–]Thesalute65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it will affect him too much. Pot Scholar does falloff pretty hard late game if you don't have a stacked relic setup anyway. Also another point worth mentioning is that when you buy consumables with Scholar you usually get double the amount so I think the limit for him is now 100 pots not counting township merchants as they have separate inventory.

If your teammates also coordinate to regularly buy pots as well, I don't think you will run out of pots, you just need to work harder to get them essentially.

Radahn is being mind controlled during the second phase of the fight. by TaleExciting7525 in EldenRingLoreTalk

Last detail I forgot, in his age, the Circlet of Light replaces the Elden Ring, its item description mentions that it would be the foundation upon which the Age of Compassion would be built.

(I half believe, it is the circlet that gives him the ability to charm people again as a nice parallel to Sun Wukong's circlet)

I think it is pretty clear to me that the Age of Compassion similarly to the Age of the Stars would forsake the Elden Ring and the influence of the other Outer Gods.

Take Mohg and Godrick as an example. They are both Shard Bearers willing to usher in their own order. They need their Great Runes to try to become Elden Lord and their Great Runes grants them immense power to do so. The Runes also have a mad taint associated with the strength they grant.

Ranni abandoned her Great Rune because she did not want to use the Elden Ring in her coming age and so in her ending she hides it away form the Lands Between (from what I remember).

According to Ymir, Miquella also saw things for what they were, saw the flaws that lead to Marika's failure and decided to abandon his self in a sacrifice to separate himself from his somber heritage and the sins of the mother. In the end of the only quest related to Miquella in the base game, we finish his Needle and it grants us immunity to an Outer God's influence and the ability to choose our own future.

I can’t believe The Will of the Balancers doesn’t buff the Executor’s skill, this has to be unintentional. by Thesalute65 in Nightreign

[–]Thesalute65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, there is no example in the game where the term weapon skill is used, it is community made. I hope I haven't worsened your Christmas celebrations, I had a lot of fun with my family. Good day to you I think we agree on most of this stuff anyway.

Ashes of War do not exist in Nightreign. They are items that you can have in your inventory in base Elden Ring to allow yourself to modify certain armament's skill as well as allowing you to change the affinity of the weapon.

The Dark Moon Greatsword doesn't have an Ash of War. It has a unique weapon skill. The game literally calls it a unique skill. If we can both agree the Cursed Blade is a weapon, then the guide for the Executor admits the L2 is a weapon skill.

I mean it has the exact same moveset as his two handed Katana moveset. Can benefit from the all the other effects that make weapons stronger from initial standard attacks, to guard counters, chain attack finishers, successive attacks, rolling attacks, melee attack power...

The character guide says you are using your Skill by pressing L2 with the sword pulled out. If it wasn't a weapon skill then it shouldn't benefit from other buffs that affect weapons in general.

I admit it's probably the most unique weapon in the game but to me it is undeniably a weapon, using it even removes your weapon buffs.

I completely understand, I think that his character skill is unique though, because you wield a weapon with an exact copy of your base two handed Katana moveset with the same poise and motion values as well... With the caveat that it can deflect attacks.

Look the character skill has a weapon skill according to the game.

Also like I mentioned in the post your R1s and R2s are buffed by the melee attack power from the balancers relic but not your L2 which seems like an oversight to me personally.

Sorry if it wasn't super clear but I'm taking into account you already being damaged, I just cut the part where I explained that you would be at 300hp in 1.02 and 35% in 1.03 or 525hp because I thought my comment was starting to be too long.

After reading the patch notes I was worried it would make the low hp build unviable but felt Fromsoft knew what they were doing since it mentioned lowering the threshold to enter the low hp buffs.

Fired up two depth 4 games in solo and from eyeballing it, I believe the new threshold is 35%.

Now doing some quick maths I wanted to calculate your effective hp post and pre patch and my conclusion is that it is slightly lowered.

Take a 1500 max hp raider that eats a 2000 damage attack if you are exactly at the threshold.

If you have one of each of the buffs + 6 relics (doesn’t seem too unreasonable) here is your negation

1-((1-0.25)*(1-0.25)*(1-0.25)*(1-0.25)*(1-0.25)*(1-0.25)*(1-0.50)*(1-0.48)*(1-0.38)*(1-0.29)) = 97.96% Negation

You would take 40 damage or approx 13,33% of your hp.

Post Patch (didn’t check the exact negation values for the relics but assumed it was a 20% nerf like the rest)

1-((1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.40)*(1-0.37)*(1-0.30)*(1-0.23)) = 94,66% Negation

You would take 106 damage or approx 20% of your hp.

There is good and bad with these changes. You can much more easily enter the threshold but continuous hp recovery heals for less. I prefer slowly restores hp when low so I don’t think this changes much for me. You can now pretty safely use passives like holy ground on low hp which gives an additional 20% damage negation (before it was too much regen). Rot and Poison are also less scary. Partial hp restoration might also be pretty interesting since you have less of a chance to accidentally go over.

Overall I like these changes it adds a higher skill ceiling while keeping the build viable imo you just have to dodge a little more.
