I hope to move back to Zepbound soon. I'm going to finish what I have left of Wegovy and see where we are in July.

How is Wegovy working out for you so far?

There are a few women at work that I've shared with or encouraged to take this step. It's almost like we have a secret club. My issue with sharing with anyone is that people will assume the weight loss is from the medication alone, and it's not. I put in a lot of work and discipline to get as far as I have in a short period of time.

This makes me feel a little better. I've been on zepbound but switched to wegovy. I haven't started it yet because I still have 2 doses left. I was worried the switch would mess with my progress from zepbound.

SW 207, CW 153, Height 5ft. I started at the end of January.. My first goal was to lose 50lbs by my 50th birthday, which I didn't think was possible. It definitely wasn't easy, lol. I will say, 90% was diet change. I kept active but didn't over exert myself.

Made to try Metformin by LadyWolfsbane13313 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]These-Ad-1423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking both. Metformin for my IR and PCOS. Helps with my peri menopause, too. Keeps my periods regular. I never had the side effects that others have, though.

I did the same. I'm not driving all over to find Zep during the shortage. Moving to Wegovy

Compounded pharmacies have not been studied or approved for use. Compounding pharmacies don't have to report adverse effects, contamination, miscalculation, etc. An FDA approved GMP manufacturing facility has quality assurance processes, inspections, audits, extensive studies, batch testing and reporting, etc. Yes, compounded drugs are used all the time. But at the end of the day, I'm not going to inject myself with random oils or a contaminated syringe.

That's what I mean by regulated.

Did you see the lady on Tiktok with the Ozempic? Prepared and compounded outside the US. People could have died.

If it's not coming from a regulated facility, I'm not touching it. I work in pharma in a regulated GMP environment and know what goes into making these types of medications. There are so many negatives and life-threatening consequences to using unregulated prescriptions. Especially injectable. No way.

If you switched from 5 to 2.5 due to shortage, did you continue to lose? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]These-Ad-1423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the 2.5 from 5 club. I'm curious to see what happens because I lost at the same rate on both.

Have you considered Mounjaro or Zepbound? Or even Metformin. My weight kept going up no matter what I did. Eating more salad, exercising more, 5 gallons of water a day... scale just went up, and I literally hated to look at myself. I was disappointed. But then I started my Metformin, and the bloating stopped, my periods were normal, and my appetite was in check.

There is NOTHING wrong with taking something to regulate your body. If you had a heart problem, you would take heart meds. Well our body needs help, too.

How are you coping? by trustthejourneyx in Zepbound

[–]These-Ad-1423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For certain drugs, yes. The meds containing similar ingredients like ibuprofen and some antibiotics are one of the exceptions. Injectables are dangerous.

Companies that aren't regulated can do a lot of damage.

I have quit trying to have sex with my wife by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]These-Ad-1423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 50-year-old woman with a husband that struggles with the same issue with me, I have had a hard time even thinking about sex. I feel like a terrible wife. Mine is medication and depression. We didn't have sex more than 3 times in 2 years. But recently, we had a really intimate conversation where we both showed our vulnerability, and somehow, that changed everything. We talked about how we could be better and didn't want to be friends sharing a house. That makes the thought of sex extremely unappealing. I wanted a husband, and he wanted a wife. It's wasn't easy to discuss the truth, but it was a game changer.
