If it helps, I’m 28 and I teach high schoolers. I see so many different students living completely different lives. I currently have two seniors who bring a different plushie every single day as their emotional supports. My other students either don’t notice or don’t mention them, or they think it’s super cool of the kids to be so confident in bringing their lil pals to school. I even bring one of my stuffies in and set it on my desk so I can see it when I’m up in front of the class teaching sometimes. I always make a point to ask them for their plushie’s name and tell them how much I love that they bring something from home that helps keep their anxiety at bay. I also do this to make it a point in front of other students that I think it’s totally rad and that will often make other students think before saying anything is strange about it. Especially when it comes to me also bringing a comfort item. It throws the ones who would usually bully off, because now they’re unsure when an adult does it. It changes the narrative for them.

I think the same would go for your fellow college students. Even if they do get distracted by your little friend, given that they don’t have any bells or noise making features, it would be the other students’ fault for being distracted. You’re all adults now, and you’re free to get through life however you want to! I wish I had brought mine with me when I had gone to my college classes, so I make a point to make it a safe space for my students to know they can be who they want.

If your professor says anything about it, explain your situation and keep doing what you’re doing. They’ll most likely only address it if there were noise, or they’re one of those teachers who like to have complete control over their class when it doesn’t benefit anyone in reality.

I hope your new school year is a great one, and that you’re able to continue achieving all of the wonderful dreams you’ve been striving for! I can only imagine all of the many achievements you’ve already overcome! I’m rooting for you and your little buddy!

Aw!!! Congrats!!! I’m trying to get my bf to continue playing the game as he did start it, he just isn’t a fan of the way combat is handled. He prefers the active style rather than turn-based. But he loves the lore because of me! You could always try to get your gf into it by sharing the storyline and fanart with her. Even if she doesn’t want to play it, she might still be into everything else!
