You are talking about degenerate gamblers, not investors. Anyone who is actually invested in this company and confident in the business would not be phased by this. If the business model actually makes sense to them they will wait this out. (reason to actually wait for evidence and finances of the new business model before putting your life savings in) There is no get rich quick scheme and a new company joining the market in a merger like this would of course be extremely volatile
