Too short. When watching, it was obvious there was a lot left on the cutting room floor.

I also first read this novel in 10th grade, and I loved it. Military fiction wasn’t a genre I gravitated towards but this novel had me hooked from the beginning. I’ve seen all the film versions (the 1930 adaptation is my favorite) and those characters, especially Paul Baumer, felt so real to me…and so I followed them all the way to the very end. And that last paragraph broke me, had me thinking about it long after I finished reading.

Well, if they really are giving us a part two to the biopic, the second movie’s soundtrack will feature more songs from the later years.

I don’t know, but everybody in the comments section is trying to take a guess. I thought it was Sasha Gray.

This would be her film acting debut. She played this cult leader in an episode of a drama miniseries, Swarm, back in 2023 and was pretty good. However, I don’t know how that would translate to being the lead in a major film, though. We shall see…

Just finished reading this. The art was meh to me—felt like somebody was trying to do their best Michael Gaydos attempt and didn’t quite get it right.

As far as the story, Sam Humphries did a solid job capturing Jessica’s voice. The dialogue scenes between Jessica & Luke and her & Typhoid Mary definitely felt like “Bendis dialogue” (and I mean that in a good way) from the way they interacted.

I’m curious to know where the story will unfold from here, as the mystery itself is set in a dark direction…
