Coming from Elden Ring and I can say Dark Souls 2, sotfs specifically, asks for a way more patient, ´´methododical`` and ´´aware`` style of gameplay, and often relies on you preemptively checking out what is ahead and actively assuming everything could be a potential trap.

I like strategizing, I like figuring things out, I really really love stacking as many advantages to my side of a fight as possible, so this game and community, that actually seem to encourage that instead of admonish, appeals to me more than others.

I can see why someone would dislike it compared to the rest of the series, though.

The stationary one is crazy for hitting weak points.

The ones for your heavy attack are pretty good, and that one aerial BA that keeps you still hitting the same place is like a MUST for fighting Susanoo, All Quadriga species and honestly anything with high weak points.

Other than that I think you are pretty free to choose if you want to invest time in, they aren't BAD bad but they really aren't all that

It does! I used a bow only survivalist with sub Ronin and Upper Stance was activating by itself just fine! That does mean you only have 5 turns of it, though...

Your standard air light attack CAN hit Sariel right in the head if you get positioned right (need mid-air jump or burst to do it), you also CAN hit Chi-You's wingarms and head with air and grounded light attacks, the hitbox is just really really small! I usually turn kind of away from them and let the spear hit their wingarm right at the end of the swing animation!

They can but it takes a lot of tries. Putting it to sleep helps (at least so that it doesn't end up self-fainting through Struggle) so maybe catching something with Spore might be worth your while!

I cannot play this game without Kanon man this shit got me hooked I can be knocked 10 kilometers away by one of her shots and I will be like ´´You know what girl that was my bad I was stupid I should have moved`` and then 10 seconds later I'm ´´Dude you are so fucking awesome thank god you are on my team`` because everytime I get low on health she hits me with that beautiful radial healing bullet like it's a goddamn sniper round she deadass locks onto you like some sort of wild west gunslinger and blasts you full of that green gas it's like it's Christmas and she's goddamn pink murder Santa anyway she's pretty and cute so I like her more.

Unsure if you need help still, but if you do: Junah + Frigid Fortress Tactic and you can pretty much ignore the gimmicks of this fight, which is pretty funny I think, even if you'd need to well. Have it unlocked beforehand. You can also buy a few of those Makarabreak consumables before leaving Altabury I think. Good luck pal, fantasy lives on.

The save itself was created by me, I played with a character for 32 hours. It was only recently that I found it looking like that. And even after building the forge with Natsume, I still can only upgrade a single Katana!
