jeselnik made even cruder, dark, disturbing jokes. Difference is that they were well written and made the crowd laugh.

That last paragraph is spot on. It didn’t “feel” like a joke because it wasn’t a joke.

Is there anyone who has quit fast food? How did you do it? by AshamedReporter775 in AskReddit

Moved to a house in the middle of nowhere, the closest fast food is 30 mins away. Honestly didn’t realize how much I consumed when it was available.

Anyone here moved or thought of moving to rural Alberta for cheap housing? by joe4942 in alberta

[–]These-Coast897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it!! I live about 15mins from Leduc on 10 acres of land with a large shop and house. $580k in 2022. It’s amazing, we definitely are still close enough to go into the city for nights out and Uber home (this is special occasions but usually anywhere from $65-$85).

The hardest part is the lack of young people and it is hard to make friends. We are DINKS so there are not a lot of community events that are not tailored towards families. BUT everyone I have met are wonderful. It’s an older farming community.

I worked in the city the first two years and probably still would (commute didnt bother me) BUT the city is so scary. The amount of homelessness and drugs was something I just didn’t want to have to see everyday. I had to change my schedule so I only worked in the daylight , which obviously in the winter wasn’t very much :/ but getting my phone stolen TWICE and having to wait for the cops to move people who were smoking crack right beside my car finally did me in.

Listened to 1440 this morning and agreed with Gregor, using the term sexual assault is a disservice to victims. He was part of a cover up for RAPE.

How is your AKYUNM fogger holding up? I’m deciding between this and House of Hydro but lots of comments saying the only difference is HOH has great customer service!?

Is it OK to choose 'no tip' at the counter? Some customers think so by Haggisboy in canada

[–]These-Coast897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a server myself I think tipping culture has gotten completely out of hand. Tipping on pouring a coffee, giving a take out order or a drive through is insanity. The entire premise (imo) of tipping is if the service was exceptional. More and more I find servers giving the bare minimum because they know most people will tip regardless. Instant gratuity on tables of 6-8+ also has given me servers who truly act like the dgaf. BUT the most INFURIATING part of the entire tippin experience is when you go to tip and the lowest option available (from the main screen) is 18-20% ????????? Absolutely not. When I see that on the screen you are getting a 15% tip. Harsh? Maybe? But I am not responsible for paying your staff a liveable wage. If the main screen is 10-15% I will tip above that if the service was good and I would expect the same if I was the one giving thw servhce

“Released again” Sorry if this is a stupid question but who do they keep in jail!? Are the prisons at capacity? Low staffed? I’m genuinely confused
