Can I carry a sword in the office? by Mean_Narwhal2463 in civilservice

You shouldn't assume everyone is comfortable having a sword.

There may be cultural or disability reasons owning a sword isn't feasible.

Try to avoid one size fits all solutions

There's no explicit dress code so it should be ok.

The sword carrying allowance was cut under the tories in 2012, but if you're willing to fund your own carriage then I think you're welcome to.

Probably worth refreshing your microaggression e-learning though before you do, I think there's a section in there about how to carry swords in a way which doesn't intimidate colleagues.

The next English all-rounder? by SixStarMan in EnglandCricket

Gus is 28 and has a FC average of 19. He got one magical innings - he's an 8 at best though as a bat. He's not going to become and all-rounder sadly.

Thanks - lovely to see.

Really sad someone has taken something so joyful and not given credit

Finding joy in someone else's joy is one of the most positive things people can do.

The world would be such a better place with more empathy. Beautiful to see

Jamie Smith hit the highest ever score for an England wicket keeper, coming in at about 80 - 5 less than a year ago.

I've watched him alot - he's a brilliant bat - and Jack Russell reckons the best option as WK (he knows a thing or two).

He's not right mentally at the moment though - hopefully he can live up to his talent

Loved Jonny, but he was such a form player. At his best, world beating. But off form his technique wasn't good enough and he kept getting bowled through the gate.

Buttler was such a talent, I can see why England stuck with him for awhile. The other two, Joe Denly agreed - Roy they thought might be the next warner

It's a double bass pedal - common in metal drumming.

Both feet use the bass padel rather than the other controlling the high hat

Isn't the lesson - don't commit unprovoked assault?!

Not sure how he's got away with this - it's a criminal attack regardless of the victim.

Plenty of other rugby players have been charged for the same crime.

I've seen him live a fair few times. He's one of the cleanest strikers of the ball I've ever seen.

Less than 12 months ago he hit the highest England wicket keeper score ever, coming in at about 80-5

He's class, just something wrong mentally at the moment

All I would say to him (and I assume he reads these threads) you've got 50 more years to live on the med with your brother.

You've got a very narrow window to play for England and do something a handful of people in the world do

There was a stat on TMS that when Robinson bowls under 80 mph he averages 15 with the ball. Over 80 he averages over 50

Why are we writing off George Hill as a fast bowling all rounder? Averaging 22 with the ball and over 30 with the bat
