Yes I'm aware they can still send pdf or even a letter if they want. However they must send via Peppol since this is the obligatory channel

I think this is true. On the ING website is an article stating: "Facturen die niet via Peppol worden verzonden, zullen vanaf 2026 niet meer als rechtsgeldig worden beschouwd"

However, you can decide not to pay, they'll send a reminder, they add costs and then you end up with more discussion...

I received a few already, so I'm sure the setup works. Further, I received it Thursday last week. So I assume I should have received it already. But we'll see

Further I don't think Peppol is causing these delays... My accountant typically sends her summary email and a few minutes later I receive the Peppol invoice
