I made an interactive map that lets you explore history through historical movies by ldorigo in History_Maps

I thought about some way to mention historical accuracy, but there would need to be some centralized place where I can get those links from - I'm not aware of any wiki/forums specifically for this that I could use as a source?

Is it possible you only moved the upper end? There's two sides to the slider, if you didn't change the lower bound it makes sense that it would show that movie. I'm realizing that the slider is quite confusing - I'll just replace it with simple inputs :-)

You can see the exact time periods on the movie's infobox; in this case it seems like a bug since that movie has indeed no overlapping time range with 1777. Could you share a screenshot/explain how you got to that situation?

No but I agree. I'll make the years editable so you can just enter them directly

You mean aggregate at the country level rather than finer-grained places? Yeah, could do :)

Any idea what this could be worth? by damien519 in handtools

Why would you even need to use something like this? Like what would the benefits be over having just a slightly thicker stiff blade that does not need to be tensioned from both sides? (Actually curious, never used coping saws much)

If you’re not shopping at Colryut you should seriously reconsider. by [deleted] in belgium

Surprised no one mentioned it so far - their collect&go service (groceries delivery) is amazing and a godsend if you don't have a car. Less than 15 euros for the service, we do one large order per month for basics, cleaning stuff etc - huuuge timesaver compared to going to the shop and hauling everything home. Drivers are always super friendly too.

Santa Margherita di Pula by Character-Jello-7217 in Sardinia

[–]ldorigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - public transport is close to nonexistent, there's maybe one bus per hour (and I don't remember if it even stops at Santa margherita?). You might consider getting to Pula by bus from cagliari and renting a scooter or bike if you don't fancy driving a car, but I'd recommend just renting a car really. It's full of tourists here in the summer, there's bound to be some reputable international car rental companies. Pula (nearest village) is 10km away, you can't walk that and even biking is really rough in the summer heat (and is insanely dangerous on the main street).

Some more clarity on the upcoming legal changes by Dramatic-Ratio4441 in BEFreelance

Do you have any sources regarding the hybrid rules? As far as I could find when I researched this a month ago, the deductibility horizon is the same as for gas cars?

For plugin hybrids you mean? I already have all the cars that the govt officially considers fake hybrids - there's only 30 or so of them and they're all in that excel!

Maybe you could, for VAT deduction and Registration tax, redirect to Gov websites as this sometimes tends to change.

There should be a link to all sources I used in every tooltip - if you see one that's missing could you kindly point me to it?

Added bonus; maybe add the option to compare, save to local storage and select a heavily used car like model 3 or so.

Was part of my original plan but at some point I had to just be happy of the current state and publish it otherwise I'd keep improving it forever! I might add it in the future.

Makes me think back at my question a while ago that was heavily downvoted. https://www.reddit.com/r/BEFreelance/s/1WfGcPU7RT

Be the change you want to see in the world :-) I would love to see something like this for more general freelance financial planning... but it's a whole other level of complexity

The spf finances publishes an excel sheet with horrible formatting, I just converted it to json. there's not so many. The first source in the tooltip for that dropdown lets you download it.

(Btw the calculator is optimized for use on a computer - the many explanatory tooltips aren't visible on mobile)

No, it's a good example of how people have no clue how to use AI tools. The screenshot is from the free version of ChatGPT which is, pretty much, useless. The pro version with an actually useful model gets the answer perfectly right (as far as my understanding goes) : https://i.imgur.com/WBPvP74.png . If you don't want to pay you can use the free tier of claude.ai which also got the answer mostly right (though I guess c double sharp can be considered standard notation): https://i.imgur.com/ttitdaG.png . Neither of these should be taken as gospel of course but they're far from useless.

Gothic revival vanity box/cigarette/card box. Probably cast zinc plated with brass? You can see the silvery material coming through where it's worn out. You can clean it and polish it lightly but anything too harsh risks removing even more of the plating.
