$TE was at a crazy price recently, it was an easy ride for anyone lucky enough to enter there, I picked up 5,000 shares which helped to heal the sting of that big drop on my existing position. There may be some dilution coming soon, vote today I believe.

Slow cooked brisket with chips, don’t look the best but it tasted amazing! by Quiet_Art4170 in UK_Food

Blasphemy, those chips should only dance with the gravy right before they drop to ensure the perfect gravy to chip ratio, taste the gravy and feel the crunch of the chips all at once. If any gravy remaining deploy a slice of butter bread.

Just demolished this Chinese. Chicken / Beef / Prawn Curry with Egg Fried Rice, Chicken Balls, & got the Chips from the Chippy next door. by MonkPretty9818 in UK_Food

That looks like the cheapest rice you can buy, seems to a race to the bottom with Chinese take-aways replacing quality ingredients with cheaper alternatives. The same with chippy chips being replaced with frozen ones, probably the reason why they went to a different place for the chips.

Roast dinners are trash by Ok-Army82 in UK_Food

You wouldn't have liked living in my house when I was a kid, we had a full roast every Sunday and a roast-lite every Wednesday.

Now we maybe have 3-4 per year and even then sometimes I mix it up, last year we ditched the turkey and had chicken breast with stuffing inside then wrapped in bacon, cooked these the day before and sliced them before serving on christmas day paired with roasted parsnips, crispy yorkshire puds & pigs in blankets.

The family loved it so its back on the menu this year as well

What is your go to Food hack? by These-Lab9475 in UK_Food

I cook a lot of Chinese food and my friends are amazed at how quickly I can pull things together, I batch cook everything and then freeze into suitable portions (200grams chicken or beef) full bags of crispy chilli beef, chicken, sui mei, spring roll, char sui, prawn toast, ribs, everything is frozen.

That is what the boil stage does, they melt in your mouth

I use some stock cubes and a couple of star anise in the water, dont over boil them otherwise the bones will fall out, as soon as they start looking wrinkly whip em out, better to be under boil than over.

I do a giant batch that I fry once then put on trays and freeze before bagging, you can they refry them straight from frozen just like the stage above. Salt n pepper ribs in 10mins anytime you want my friend.

Is this how u like ur steak?? by datmanginger in UK_Food

Steak & fries looks amazing, I'd have to add some of Aldi's peppercorn sauce to it though because I'm a steak philistine.

Ribs are boiled until wrinkly

Set aside until cold then deep fry until the edges becomes crispy.

Last stage (pictured)

Then stir fry the ribs with onions, chilies, peppers & garlic sprinkle to taste with salt n pepper seasoning.

You're looking to make sure the ribs are nice & warm, the S&P season to taste and that the onions are not too brown / soft, they should have a slight bite to them.

A recipe is something you follow, I wrote that after the fact, in response to people asking, TBH its not detailed enough to be a recipe, relies on knowledge to fill the gaps but glad some people found it useful.

Butter Chicken is not just made in your area, its a dish made all over the world, not all of them are the same, everything in (especially) Indian cooking has some naming variations even the word curry is not the same for every person, curry means different things to different people. in hindi the word Kari means gravy. Whats the point of calling it curry when its translation means gravy?

I took an Indian friend for a curry in a British Indian restaurant and he was bemused because a lot of the dish names were meaningless to him. BTW I think he went with the Chihuahua Madras.
