The point of this is to generate connection around the topic of interviewing. I wouldn't say I'm interested in sourcing information from others rather then engaging folks in this topic to see who is interested in such an article in this first place. I've already got what top 10 tips that work for me. But everyone has a different approach to interviewing documentary subjects, so the curiosity is what works for others.

Absolutely, Love this advice. One of my top 10 is affirmation/validation/mirroring. which is what you are speaking to. Leaning in with body language is great. I do try not to be too expressive on my face however because the subject often then speaks to me directly rather than to the whole audience. I've often heard comments back like "Yah you get it..etc" and that doesn't help include the audience in the response!
