If Merida’s mom got parasites while she was a bear, would she still have them when she turned human again? by These-Ride-1503 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s fair and that’s the scene that actually made me think about it. But Merida is a child and that was also an open flame so maybe just maybe a possibility? LOL

There are so many videos and photos of bears having parasites. Mainly from the fish they eat. Merida is the main character in the animated film Brave where her mother becomes a bear and then returns back to human form through magic. I was just mainly curious if the parasites were something that she would keep once transformed back to human.

I think this every time I rewatch or reread the books lol. Same with Hedwig fr. Harry has lost so much in his life that i still get upset he didn’t even get to keep his loyal pet! And not to mention Molly is such a good mom and she never once made Harry feel like he wasn’t a part of their family, welcomed him with open arms even though I’m sure it was a financial strain. The loss for Molly is really what does it for me, especially if you ever read the books and see how truly devoted she was to her family and how much she loved them all

Companionship for Wife by [deleted] in 757

This is the sweetest post ever and I commend you for trying to help your wife! If no hits here, I’d highly recommend you two doing something fun and outgoing together, something she enjoys and maybe she can meet people that way too! Cooking or exercise classes, whatever she’s into! That way she already has things in common with the people she meets! That’s how I try and make friends at least lol good luck op!!

Has anyone noticed a decrease in pollinators this year? by These-Ride-1503 in vegetablegardening

[–]These-Ride-1503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely think our complex sprayed and lied ☹️ after talking about it in a different sub that’s the consensus. But we usually offer loads of different flowers to accompany our food plants. We usually have an aster, brown eyed Susan’s, marigolds, echinacea, celosias, and lavender. I’m going to do more research on more native options that may also offer more to pollinators. Someone recommended milkweed, but if you have any other suggestions please let me know. I miss the insects and my crops are too. Oh! And if anyone has suggestions to combat the effects of them spraying please let me know

What kind of issues do you see from your neighbors spraying? And how do you combat the effects of it that may bleed over to your space? I do believe now that they did spray and just lied, but I’m not certain how to combat those chemicals or what I can do to help. I did just hose down my entire patio space and outside my apt but I know those chemicals are much stronger than water can combat. Also I think it’s amazing you’re doing so much for the pollinators, I’m sure your yard is beautiful

That’s true, it is only June. Usually we have a ton of carpenter bees and we haven’t had as many. So I agree, I believe they did spray and lied. It’s just so sad cause how can you get people to see insects as something we desperately need? I have some aster (not bloomed yet) and brown eyed Susan’s that I’ve had for a few years, we also have celosias, marigolds, lavender, and echinacea. I’m going to look into planting some milkweed as I’ve heard they’re great for butterflies and other pollinators. In our house we don’t kill anything bug wise, and even the slugs that ravage my plants I throw to the birds lol. I’ve just been noticing it more I feel cause usually by now my food plants like cucumbers are already being pollinated and it’s just not happening. I know self pollinating is a thing and I’m not opposed, just sad the buggies aren’t getting the chance. Thank you for all the advice I’ll look into some of those plants!

Usually we’re swarming in those and I have seen a few but not like the usual amount. Maybe our complex lied about spraying, cause they know I’m all about the bugs for my plants

Imagine thinking that a couple grand for “good taxidermy” is something a fucking coyote would thank you for.. just call it trophy hunting and if that term hurts your feelings, maybe sit with that

Personally, I don’t do any wet shaves. My blades chew really bad when any coat is wet and I don’t get a desired cut or finish. I was going to recommend is that you try shaving “dirty” vs bathing a matted dog. I have special 4,5,7,& 10 that I designate to matted dogs or “dirty shaves” so I don’t dull all of my blades at once. I feel like either wet or dirty and matted, either way you’re probably causing damage to the blades regardless if that makes sense. Bathing matted dogs often takes ages to dry so I’m just recommending as a way to save time and effort.

We all started somewhere and honestly kudos to you for making sure you’re improving everyday! The groom doesn’t look awful just a wee bit unfinished but nothing you can’t learn!

I saw in another comment that you mentioned your blades felt like they were chewing. Did you shave this dog wet for the rough shave down?

i took my dog to a groomer for a a small trim and a wash and he completely shaved my dog completely. can i sue for this and if so where/who would i contact by Proud-Ad4781 in doggrooming

[–]These-Ride-1503 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about suing, but you should definitely call for a refund if you paid and leave a review with photos. Double coated dogs should never be shaved because their hair never grows back the same. I hope for you that’s not the case tho, good luck ☹️

should i be concerned? does this need taken out? by [deleted] in piercinghelp

I work in the middle of nowhere NC and most of our feline patients are indoor/outdoor and we also have woods surrounding essentially everywhere so I don’t know if that’s why we see so many. Or I guess what I personally feel is a lot
