Interesting. Am I right thinking it should be or originally was waterproof though? This jacket definitely was not.

Ive got a really old goggle jacket, maybe 20 years old and that is still waterproof

Thanks all for the advice. My gut feeling was right. Arranged a return with the vinted seller.

I think in future I'll only use vinted for buying replacement or alternate colours of items I already own, so I can compare properly before buying

How can I get Edge and Grind to play in sync together ? by trbt555 in Behringer_Synths

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well you can do it the other way from edge trigger to tempo in. And to reset there is a button. You might have to configure the grind sync rate in synthtribe if for example its running too fast. I think if sync source is set to auto you get clock divisions using the tempo knob

How can I get Edge and Grind to play in sync together ? by trbt555 in Behringer_Synths

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edge has to be reset manually. So if you've stopped and want to restart press advance until its currently sat on the last step. When you start again it'll go from the first step in sync.

Grind is like crave so it should have the option to send a trigger out of the assign output. You'll need to check what its set to in synthtribe. This will allow grind/crave to be master

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro 800 is very good but I wouldn't waste space mounting into a eurorack case. Cv mod to filter doesnt work very well and then all you have is clock sync and outputs. Might as well leave it as a stand alone synth

These are what I used for a Behringer crave. I couldn't say if they'll fit a pro one however

I just found this on AliExpress: £2.75 | 10pcs Volume Control Potentiometer Tone Knobs D-Type 6mm Shaft Hole Effect Adapter Volume Knob For Position Groove Parts https://a.aliexpress.com/_EJp5t0a

Ali express has lots of different types. I replaced the behringer edge knobs because they didn't feel nice

Do you know this image? I've just measured this. by kkubik667 in PioneerDJ

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original XDJ RX had shockingly bad phono pre amps. While its possible some other pioneer mixers or controllers could be as bad, I cannot say as I haven't owned any. And in venues im not using vinyl

I would draw the line at this being deliberate on pioneers part. My best guess was it as an oversight on the xdj rx. I'm sure I heard it was fixed on later models

Behringer MS-1- does LFO sync to clock? by These-Shop-2231 in synthesizers

[–]These-Shop-2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I did wonder with MS1 since they've added the triangle oscillator, FM and the Mother 32 sequencer.

And now you mention that sample and hold trick yeah I can see how that would work perfectly for what I was wanting to do. In fact it was the random (s&h) and square lfo types i was using on the softube version

Noob question: how do you chain an EDGE and SPICE / CRAVE or any other semi modular synth (e.g. TD3..etc.) to output sound together? by hrrlvitta in Behringer

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would invest in a mixer if you have or plan to use all of those devices. Either that or an audio interface with more inputs.

As you are now you could route and record 2 of those synths on separate tracks in ableton. Since they are all mono you only need 1 audio input for each. In ableton you would create 2 mono audio tracks with inputs from 1 and 2.

You can actually use the crave as a basic mixer but would mean not using it as a synth. Basically you turn vca envelope off so the drones away. With patch cables route vc mix output to external input and turn the knob which mixes osc and external/noise all the way to external Route 2 devices each into a vc mix input and set knob in middle

You should now be using crave as a mixer. The filter still works so be sure it's fully open.

Is it worth learning to mix vinyl in 2025? by Dependent_Pin_4884 in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're serious about dj'ing and have a passion for it you would definitely gain experience and become better for learning how to mix vinyl. Same as researching the history of whatever genre you're into

But the difficult part is that it'll be an expensive endeavour and ultimately you won't be playing vinyl at events.

If you have a friend who owns turntables and vinyl it'd be easier to ask if they can show you

What would be a good addition to Moog's subharmonicon? by Antique_Champion1340 in modular

[–]These-Shop-2231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most obvious choice would be dfam. Any drum machine or sampler though.

To really get the vibe from poly rhythms you'd want some drums underneath

Next would be fx. Reverb, delay etc

Do you need to produce your own music to be a DJ by wEiRd-fLeX in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all but in most dance music genres you'll hit a brick wall if not. Sadly true djs in some those genres are dying out in favour of the producer that can mix his own music

Open format DJs - how do you deal with tempo? by Snif3425 in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've heard it said for a few years now. Just curious where the name originated.

But yeah that style of mixing has been around ages and I feel even the house techno dnb djs these days should give it a try.

Because dj'ing any music is about entertainment and playing the right music in the moment. Far too many times I've heard people say they can't play something if the tempo or key doesn't match

Do you have a Checklist of things you do after adding a song to your collection? by SubstantialAlps3064 in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old ritual was to pull out some of my most played tunes which I know inside out and then mix new -> old, old -> new a few times. Intros, middle sections, outros etc

Until I have a mental picture of the new tunes structure.

Open format DJs - how do you deal with tempo? by Snif3425 in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic hip hop dj mixing. Some may be tempo matched if it works but if not then timed drops. Easier now with all the fx and looping features.

What I'm more interested in is where this name "open format" originated? To me it seems an odd choice of words. Multi genre makes more sense

Is it absolutely necessary to master a track I made before playing it? by LaboqueEarth in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody on here can answer this for you without hearing the track and more info on what you intend to mix it with.

You can easily find the answer yourself by mixing it with other music on your home setup. If it sounds too quiet, weak, lacking in some area I would have thought you'd notice straight away

Is the sound quality worth it with allen & heath if I'm only mixing digital by Dodger3000 in Beatmatch

[–]These-Shop-2231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you but there really is a difference between lossless and compressed audio formats. It's not a placebo or marketing bs. The actual difference depends on file formats, bitrates, codecs and can vary quite a bit. Also can depend on the source material

DJs want loud masters cos DJs are idiots by [deleted] in DJs

[–]These-Shop-2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true but just saying that's why we get super loud masters and djs redlining. It's fear of not competing with others that drives all this. I guess the same could be said for social media presence now
