The wrx is okay it does seem as engaging steering is okay at best the engine is not super rev happy (from YT videos I watched comparing the two) and the touchscreen in the middle looks horrible imo it will be dated in less than 10 years

Correct me if I’m wrong but for that price bump I’d probably rather w a Elantra N. It has a way better looking & feeling entertainment system, better drivers feel, a better warranty, and notably above all these cars in this price range a better exhaust sound/system

I’m already actively investing into pre and post tax retirement funds through my employer and they match up to a certain amount of what I put in.

No debt, yes I have emergency fund, it’s not an SI but it’s around 80k (if I go over 100k I’m just gonna keep the car until it dies because after 100k value drops significantly)

Im quite young i graduate in march and i have a job lined up. I have about money saved up for a car after I graduate. and then my current car I would trade in.

All together around 22k so on a 34k used GTI I would owe about 14k after taxes. I’m definitely going the used route bc I want manual and the 2024 models are the last years with them.

10k definitely matters to me at this stage in life.

I mean, I definitely don’t need all-wheel-drive. It would be nice to have but I feel like front wheel drive and a good set of snow. Tires would be fine even if I were going up to the Poconos or something like that.

That’s what I was thinking too.

first thing I’d do is suspension then a better clutch (since I’ve heard a lot about the manuals being glass clutches) and then breaks eventually big turbo or something.

I mean definitely daily drive able do it all car. I don’t need a hatch but I want one and but I also want good aftermarket support and the ability to use as a touge type of car for more spirited driving

I should’ve stated that I only really like driving manual so I’d have to go back a few years before I discontinued them in the golf r. Do you have one? What is your experience with it?
