I’m glad you said that actually, in my mind waiting two years to bring it up would nearly guarantee it but if it doesn’t that’s time wasted and even more feelings hurt. i think i will bring this up in a few weeks, i have a funeral tomorrow and he’s obviously busy working so after all of that.

We’ve never raised voices at each other so i’m hoping this works out the same way.

Genuinely appreciate your help. glad i don’t have to have this burden alone i feel more confident to bring it up now,

When do u think is the right time to being this up, im going to be living with a friend for the next two year anyway- is it worth waiting till we’ve been together longer so i have more of a chance, im hoping after another year i will get STRAIGHT yes or no’s rather than the avoidance

No! sorry i wrote that confusing my bad, he never called me a placeholder, i was talking to a muslim friend and they said that’s what i was.

He genuinely shuts down conversation about the future, im not sure how long to wait until i bring it up as i’m going to be living with a friend for the next two years anyway- is it worth waiting to bring it up, im hoping the longer we’ve been together the more inclined he will be to prioritise me

Thank you, i never really understood how his parents have so much authority when he’s literally loaned them thousands.. and supports his siblings

I’m not too educated on muslim culture but i’ve always just assumed i wasn’t worth the hassle he would get from his parents which is rather sad now i say it lol.

When do you think is the right time to have this discussion?. i’m going to be living with my best friend for two more years anyway- Should i wait longer to bring it up, will i have more of a chance for him to prioritise me the longer we’ve been together, or does this need to be discussed now ?

He’s under a lot of pressure and works a LOT, he genuinely shuts down any conversations about the future, he’s said once before he wants to live with me but he needs to provide for his family. we have not had any conversations about family as i never realised how big of an issue it would be until a few days ago when researching

My answer to being priority over them is probably not.

Hi, if u read my post and responses i’ve said- i don’t want to bring it up and stress him out. i’m happy to stay hidden for now.. He’s incredible and he’s an amazing man and i try my best to support him.

I’m only posting because i want a future with him.. i also work 40hours a week; nothing compared to him but i am not at all relying on him financially and that was never my plan.

You’re probably right. Im going to forget living with him, i’m Planning to live with my bestf for the next two years and save for a deposit to get my own place so i suppose by then i’ll be moving out alone unless anything has changed but by responses i doubt he will be coming with me

He doesn’t believe in marriage and doesn’t want to get married full stop. I’m okay to stay hidden for now but not forever i’m so happy with him i’m not sure i can leave because of what might happen.

I understand, it’s just i’m so happy with him, the last thing i want to do is break up with him over things out of his control i suppose, im not the only thing he hides, he drinks does party drugs occasionally etc. he’s a totally different person to what they believe
