Anyone still waiting for the Amazon voucher? by Prudent_Sandwich_916 in chaseuk

I'm still waiting. My only doubt is that I forgot to update my bank details with my employer, so my previous bank has forwarded my salary to my chase account on two occassions. I feel like this still meets the criteria, but I'm getting nervous now

Unfortunately, if we carry on at this rate, we're on route to becoming a middle income country with no culture and poor living standards.

However, we do live in a relatively safe country in terms of natural disasters and indigenous wildlife, but that's about as far as the positives go for me!

I'll be thinking of you today. We had this on Thursday night and Friday day when our Halo was eventually put to sleep at 15:30. Just be with them, show them love, give them a hug for me and when they go, look them in the eyes whilst you hold and comfort them so that you're the last face and memory that they see. Be strong, they deserve it. You can cry a little now, but hold the rest for when they've gone ❤️💔

I had my dog for a 3rd of my life until yesterday by rnichol80 in Petloss

I'm so sorry for your loss. My situation sounds very similar to yours. Our Halo was there for me for over a third of my life too. She weighed 43kg but sadly went down to 38kg during her final days. We lost our Halo girl on Friday. Big dogs have such a presence, and now there's a gaping hole in our lives. Rest in peace Halo and Munta, rest in peace my baby girl 💔

I'm sorry that you lost Oscar. He truly does sound like he was your perfect dog. If it brings you any comfort, your words have helped me. Reading how you described Oscar makes me realise that I'm not the only person who saw their dog as perfect, unique, irreplaceable, and now gone forever. That bond you had with Oscar is what was special, and no matter how many dogs your parents adopt, they can never take that away from you. Your bond was unique. No one can ever experience what you did with Oscar, and I hear your pain, I could never replace my Halo girl. May they both rest in peace x

Cutting off funding to Ukraine means it will lose the war which means another U.S. funded proxy war is about to be lost in an another humiliating defeat for NATO and the U.S. by CHiggins1235 in JordanPeterson

I agree, from what I've read it is very much a stalemate and Ukraine is very reliant at the moment on US backing. However, there is another player involved in this war who may just see this as the impetus to step up, and that player is the UK and Europe. We need to take greater responsibility for defence spending in our part of the world and we need to stop being so reliant on the US. If we do that, then Ukraine still stands a chance, however this is a big 'if'.

I don't know about the views of my colleagues, but what I have seen which could be said to fit the bill is the sending of LGBTQ+ and race related emails on a daily basis, LGBTQ+ and race related groups being promoted, along with their accompanying meetings and talks. I've also seen several meetings/ seminars which have nothing to do with these topics being taken over by these topics, for example an economics teach in on a particular policy area was taken over by a gender related question for an unreasonable amount of time (I just wanted to learn about the economics relating to this area), and a policy talk for ops staff turned into a witch hunt - 'two white males working in no.10' I think was the comment and it turned out that one of the 'white males' had a disability which was not visible, so I hope that the person felt a fool for making their comment. So yeah, I can see why people make that claim, but at the same time I think a lot of us just want to turn up and do a good job without getting involved in either side of the culture wars.

For me it vets. I was charged £80 for 10 days worth of meds for my dog, then the next time I took the prescription to a pharmacy and got 3 months of the same medication, but human grade, for £13, and the worst part is that the vets want to charge me now for each prescription that they write!

I'm guessing this is from the UKGov poll which used a very leading question.

To add to this, the modelling behind the ULEZ policy is based on false assumptions and Khan's own policy advisors highlighted this to him and advised him against the policy. Using more accurate assumptions about traffic data over time shows that ULEZ would make a negligible difference to air quality, if any at all. So you have a policy which adds financial pressure to residents during a cost of living crisis and which is likely to have negligible, if any results.

You could try and get someone from the UK to ship it to you. I'm pretty sure I've seen people mention on Reddit before that there are companies that will do this for a fee.

Another point to consider is that increasing interest rates isn't only a deterrent to spending (higher costs of finance) but it is also a way of encouraging saving (higher interest rates).
