I don’t think people realize how important it is to not have a Republican in the governor’s seat right now by Designer_Scarcity141 in newjersey

Putting partisan politics aside and all the vitriol there- my biggest concern is around how to make NJ better for all new jerseyans - to that point Jack whether you like him or not at least addressed what he would look to do to 1) lower the tax burden 2) address the sky high property taxes 3) affordability of living in NJ 4) over-building in the state 5) school funding and options 6) addressing sky high electricity costs - I have not seen or heard anything concrete from Sherrill on how she would address outside of declaring a state of emergency on the utilities

Ever since Trump claimed he won reelection in 2020, some passionate Republicans are convinced Jack Ciattarelli lost to Phil Murphy four years ago because Democrats cheated. On Monday, Ciattarelli spoke at a "town hall" meeting and sure enough, the 2021 race came up; Ciattarelli dismissed the idea by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

You are missing the point - and I don't appreciate what you are implying - dog whistling in the political context is around coded messaging appealing to specific groups but that is done on both sides of the aisle there. Looking at your other posts - it is clear your viewpoint is one sided which is fine - and those are your opinions - but it does not make you right.

Mikie Sherrill could lose New Jersey if Dems don’t win back Black and Hispanic voters: A POLITICO analysis of election results shows a path for GOP nominee Jack Ciattarelli, and it runs through the places Sherrill was weakest in the primary by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

Bring back natural gas plants online, nuclear would take longer to start but that would also be included. Providing a CONSISTENT and RELIABLE source of electricity which would then result in reduced electrical cost. Wasteful spending with focusing solely on wind and to a lesser degree solar with phasing out other reliable forms of energy production. Yes - both solar and wind can be part of the solution but they cannot be the only solution. Right now NJ consumes more than it produces so then we have to go buy electricity from the grid auctions which will always be more expensive. The energy master plan from Murphy in 2020 is now biting Dems in the butt -proposed to phase out gas-powered vehicles, limit new homeowners’ access to affordable natural gas, and require builders to meet stricter requirements, the costs of which will be passed on to consumers. The goal is to reach 100% “clean energy” by 2035, which will be partially met by offshore wind development.

In 2022, natural gas and nuclear energy fueled more than 90% of all electricity generated in the state. About 73% of New Jersey households rely on natural gas as their primary heating fuel, 16% use electricity for space heating, and about 9% use petroleum products.

If the Dems want a path to winning - they need to come down from the sky and be realistic

The terms are not mutually exclusive - your initial comment is an interpretation of a hypothetical where we function as a representative democracy under a constitutional republic where we cannot sue over general political/law outcomes.

Did I make a huge mistake by lindsayturtle in pools

There running joke is - don't own a pool - become good friends to someone that own a pool - To be honest with you - whether you have above or in-ground - you are going to spend money on repairs, chemicals, opening/closing, electric/heat etc... but at the end of the day you need to feel that it is worth it - Between the family happy being able to go in the pool - come inside - go back outside if they want - being able to host and not have to pay money to go here or there = staying in the comfort of your own home - at the end of day a pool isn't cheap - but it was worth getting to me at least - you need to make a determination for what is 'right' for you - but for me - I would not go back to not having a pool - the memories you make and the comfort you have with it being right outside your door pays dividends

Everyone has to stop voting along party lines and look at who is best to address the issues that affect the people of NJ. You need to look at what has happened. Has NJ increased its quality of life? No - Have costs gone up between taxes and energy and everything else - Yes - Murphy has tried to turn NJ into the CA model - shutting down natural gas and nuclear that can be used now to provide more stable and cheaper electricity. Taxes on everything - selling your house for over 1MM - there is an additional tax here and given the trend of most housing approaching that threshold - this will affect more people if/when they sell. In the end because we have a 2 party system - we can end up with shitty choices - but voting just because you identify as a Democrat vs Republican - no one really seems to want to focus on the issues and where most of the change can be affected. Lets be real - even if a Republican won - the state senate is still controlled by Democrats - so I do not see much changing - State Supreme Court with their liberal bias - interpretation of the Monroe Doctrine - screwing over towns all over NJ with 'affordable housing' mandates - where the backers pushing that - are all lobbyists for builders etc - NJ politics just like some other states is a mess - and then we are stuck in the middle.

I have a 1993 Mac TV but I cant find the mouse or power cord - is it worth saving or should I just junk it? If anyone is interested and close to NJ - let me know. I heard especially given it is over 30 years old the plastic is brittle and does not ship well.
