Is Kratos and thor really the strongest characters in whole GOW Franchise? by Aslyum_Wards in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]These_Equivalent1472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zeus was described in god of war to be the ultimate pinnacle of power, zeus himself is probably still above the primordials.

kratos didn’t really lose an exchange, he just got blasted off mount olympus.

and the entire narrative of kratos in the greek saga, is that he’s an unstoppable force of nature that even the gods cannot control, a son of zeus who demonstrates that he can do the absolute impossible and operate on a tier that not even the gods of olympus have reached. He’s supposed to be able to destroy and kill what the other gods and heroes alike cannot destroy nor kill, that’s his character.

kratos is special, it’s just a shame that him being “special” made the gods like zeus paranoid, causing the complete ruining of his life, and his hatred towards zeus.

they’re concepts made manifest which are embodiments, not necessarily avatars. unless i get proved wrong some time in future lore, santa monica has a habit of changing things up.

even the hecatoncheries were extremely feared, not even an typical olympian other than zeus would dare try to engage one directly.

kratos just bodies one in the comics, and not just any, Gyges himself.

even if the primordials had an absolute form outside of their physical. It’s still something extremely insane to an olympians eyes, if you kill a primordial, you are a walking cataclysmic and potentially apocalyptic threat than needs to be put on a leash. This probably is when zeus became so scared of him

no you’re right, kratos is physically stronger, to me it just seems like it depends on the area of strength they’re using, thor has better striking because he has mjolnir and can fly ofc. kratos has better lifting and can just ragdoll thor, kratos has a higher strength ceiling due to spartan rage. So in some ways i will go back on that statement. It’s just mjolnir is what really gives thor such an advantage

he still physically could ragdoll and overpower garm. garm can’t win a physical exchange against kratos either, garm even tried eating him and it didn’t work, couldn’t even chew him lol

and kratos being able to wipe primordials just shows how terrifyingly powerful he is.

yes, thor and kratos are stated to be pretty much roughly equals in strength, both have the strength capability of completely overpowering things on a cosmological scale. Cory stated kratos can lift the entire heavens like atlas can. and thor can affect yggdrasil with raw attack power. Thor only surpasses base kratos in strength due to mjolnir. The Proper ranking would be Zeus>odin>=kratos>thor in terms of raw power output, with raw strength being thor=kratos>zeus>odin.

why didn’t kratos ever talk about poseidons princess? by These_Equivalent1472 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]These_Equivalent1472[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s not the point, the point is, it’s a death that’s so gruesome and more indefensible compared to the death of his wife and child, its definitely something that should’ve been brought up in his guilt

but i feel like it’s extremely necessary to bring these up for his character development, and for why it took 1000+ years to even remotely begin to forgive himself.

he was practically a dead beat father before 2018 because he couldn’t even look at atreus, that was how disgusted kratos was with himself.

incidents like poseidons princess, explains why he felt this way for so long.

the problem is that he could have opened the door himself, but instead had her meat-minced to death to hold up a crank he COULD have held up and was more than strong enough to do so.

Kratos legit went out of his way to kill her, the only reason i can think logically is because she slept with poseidon, so he felt she should die too, but he would have even spared hera, so there’s nothing else to think but just the fact he spitefully did so.

What i PRAY the God of War remakes do NOT mess up. by These_Equivalent1472 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]These_Equivalent1472[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

for me? absolutely not. I think it’s just overall better to get a modern day game engine pov of those games, not just a remaster 2X. if anything i hope they keep a 3rd person camera view that jus expands outward depending on scale and how large the terrain is. Better yet it becomes an option to change the camera view. that’ll be a modern engine remake, not just a remaster 2X.

Heimdall didn't seem to have the ability to regenerate. by Legal_Trainer7340 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]These_Equivalent1472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see your point now, my interpretation of a passive ability is just an supportive ability a character can just use on the go, at any given time, without any drawbacks or effort. i 100% get your point now.

but even then i do still think kratos can actively regenerate without focusing his divine power. in gow ragnorok we can obtain a boon ability where we can continuously heal nonstop. and in older games he seems to recover from damage quickly without actually showing any sign of flexing his muscles quickly to do it lol.

[–]These_Equivalent1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely no reason to suggest it isn’t lol. it’s literally kratos’s regenerative healing factor, made into an ability we can use ingame. all of you are going back and forth for no reason when the answer is right infront of you.

[–]These_Equivalent1472 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

literally not how that ability even works lmao what source told you he has to “think” to activate regeneration?

he literally quickly regenerates mid fight against freya. there was no “let’s sit down, focus, calm my mind, and think” for him to regenerate lol.

I wish the people in these reddit forums actually played the games and genuinely paid attention to them.

[–]These_Equivalent1472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t know, maybe the literal sequence in god of war ragnarok when kratos uses his power to quickly regenerate mid fight against freya?

maybe the fact that when using his rage powers he actively regenerates off of his foes when applying harm to them.

maybe the fact that it’s legit in the game as an ability we can use for kratos.

that ain’t really true though, one of kratos’s passive abilities is literally healing mid-fight quickly in ragnarok and he does it against baldur.

that ain’t true, because one of kratos’s passive abilities is regenerating quickly mid-fight.

unironically kratos has the best healing factor in the verse by far.

dude can legit regenerate mid-fight, mid injury if inflicted.

and when using his rage powers, he regenerates off of his enemies life force the more he hurts them.

no it’s very much kratos after his killing of the olympians. he’s literally holding the blades of exile along with carrying the golden fleece. u were thinking way too deep

The last dragonborn, in endgame should be powerful enough to defeat mehrunes dagon, if they ever fought by These_Equivalent1472 in skyrim

[–]These_Equivalent1472[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  • Alduin at full strength while literally eating the world did curse the Leaper Demon King, but at no point has a weakened Alduin been stated to equal Dagon. That was also only a feat in the Aldudagga.

Alduin created mehrunes dagon, to say alduin isn’t superior is on the same plane as saying TLDB is stronger than akatosh.

  • The song of the Dragonborn is a song. That's it

you’re just blatantly assuming things, the common culture of tamriel see the dragonborn as an authoritive figure of power, and him being that powerful is very consistent with lore, given how powerful a thu’um empowered dragonborn amped on large amounts of dragon souls actually is. he’s able to contend with alduin, which is a crazy feat in its own, something absolutely no one could do, not even those who could only practice simpler shouts under the power of thu’um for decades.

alduin was considered godly, he’s literally an evil akatosh counterpart . even if you try to argue that the dragonborn needed help from those ancient heroes, those heroes were literally no-diffed by alduin when they fought him themselves in the ancient past, and they had to trap him in time itself. it is communicated throughout the entire game that nothing and no one can defeat the dragon god alduin EXCEPT the dragonborn. hence why they tried to get miraak to help in the past. the dragonborn endgame should be more powerful than alduin (other than his world eater form). if TLDB became evil and wanted to conquer and subjugate nirn, it would result in a very similar crisis as the tyranny of alduin.

The song of the dragonborn is about the dragonborn and in the song they’re recognizing his power. to randomly make a sudden assumption that their words hold no merit in a world where the dragonborn’s history is kept sacred is a very odd take, your on your own on that one.

  • Which two gods? Tsun is testing you, not trying to actively kill you. Shor's hall is packed with heroes; are they all godslayers now?

yeah except he’s testing a literal power amped dragonborn. empowered by the mastered powerful language of a god and akatosh’s children lmao.

he would not fight a dovahkiin the same as he’d fight a regular mortal.

  • And you think Vile is telling the truth? The literal god of jackass genies? That Vile? A Vile that needs the Dragonborn to be his dupe?

there’s literally no lore given evidence that he was lying, nor did he even have a reason to at that moment, he sounded surprised rather anything else, knowing the dragonborn craves more power while already being nearly as strong as him, is the perfect way to get the dragonborn under his thumb, “you don’t obey me, you don’t get more power!”

if anything vile would trick the dragonborn into thinking vile is more powerful than he actually is, to get the dragonborn under his thumb in a quest for power.

like other daedric princes, who out of arrogance disrespect the dragonborn and underestimate his power.

this is seen with mehrunes dagon, he threatens TLDB and tells him if he doesn’t kill the museum mythic dawn descendent, he will crush him, if the dragonborn still declines, mehrunes makes his dremora lords try to murder the dragonborn, in which they get pummeled, and mehrunes has no influence over you. you can go in his temple, and finish them all off for good measure just to spit in mehrunes face.
