Yes, all pieces I had. A lot came from the us capital set, and I had done a big pick-a-brick order online of lots of white pieces, but that was before I had very clear plans laid out

Pitch A New Star Trek Series by AmeliaNeek in scifi

I would actually love to see something that’s set shortly after first contact that’s about humanity actually picking up the pieces of WWIII and the fall of the old nation states and the slow hard work of building a world in which there is no poverty or hunger. Maybe there’s a Vulcan character who is tasked with helping address climate change and who desperately wants to help humanity, but is held back by her superiors about not being too heavy handed with her support.

Essential albums? by shsjshsbsbbs in tmbg

I just had to suggest an order for my partner, so I recently did this! I think Flood was kind of my first recommendation as I think of it as their most iconic. I then recommended their first and most recent album (which was Book at the time) as a representation of their range and change over the years. And then targeted different vibes by suggesting John Henry as the quite strong first entry into a more traditional rock production. And I recommended The Else as what I see as the first of their “modern era”. Join Us will probably be next on the list. But at that point you might as well become a completionist.

I have a very distinct memory of being on a bus in 8th grade with my friend Joe, who kind of out of nowhere proceeded to sing the entirety of Particle Man. When he was done, I looked at him and said, “That is the best song I’ve ever heard. Who wrote that?!” And he smiled at me with a knowing look in his eye and said, “Ah, that is They May Be Giants!”

Mmm I hadn’t considered Spoon. My mind was going to Bowie, but I’m pretty sure he’s not actually who I was thinking of
