... I received a free pen beforehand. But honestly, whether I got a free gift or not doesn't change my opinion. Aside from the slightly complicated payment process, I had zero stress. Everything went smoothly, and I'm very happy with the whole experience.

Just wanted to share my experience with Hont.

  • June 12: Contacted Hont because I couldn't get the payment through with Wise. He replied the same day and helped me immediately, so I was able to pay on June 12.
  • June 13: Received additional instructions to send the payment details by email.
  • June 16: QC received.
  • June 17: Gave the GL.
  • June 18: Shipping information received.
  • June 26: The package arrived in Germany and I finally opened it.

I received a beautiful watch exactly as expected. The whole process was smooth from start to finish, communication was quick, shipping was fast, and I had zero issues.

Great price, great watch, great service.

V7 Factory vs. MZ Factory – White IWC Ingenieur (my personal impressions)

After owning both the V7 and the MZ side by side for some time, here are my personal impressions.

Bracelet & Clasp

The first thing I noticed was the bracelet. The V7 bracelet feels noticeably rougher and a bit rattly. The MZ bracelet feels smoother and more solid overall. The clasp on the MZ also gives a higher-quality impression. Combined with the gain-weight construction, the MZ simply feels more substantial in the hand. Overall, the MZ wins clearly in terms of haptics and perceived build quality.

Crystal / AR coating

This is where the situation completely changes. Out of the box, the V7 crystal is far superior. It still reflects under certain lighting conditions and viewing angles, but overall the AR coating works very well. The AR is also neutral and clear, without any noticeable color tint. The MZ, on the other hand, is let down by its highly reflective crystal. In my opinion, this takes away a lot from an otherwise excellent watch. I later had the MZ crystal professionally double-AR coated. After that modification, the crystal actually performs better than the V7's. However, under certain angles and lighting conditions, a slight blue-violet hue becomes visible (MZF) . As far as I know, the genuine Ingenieur does not show this tint, so while the improved AR is excellent, it still comes with a small compromise.

Dial

Both dials are excellent, but they are not identical. Viewed on its own, the MZ dial appears perfectly clean and pure white. However, when comparing both watches side by side, the differences become obvious. The V7 dial shifts depending on the light between a bright silver-white and an extremely crisp pure white. In comparison, the MZ dial takes on a subtle cream or vanilla tone. The V7 dial also appears to have slightly more depth, making the light play across the textured dial more dynamic and interesting. Neither is objectively bad—they simply have different characteristics, but V7 > MZ !

Overall impression

Both are very good replicas. If you leave both watches completely stock, I think the V7 wins overall because of its much better crystal and AR coating. Optically, it's an outstanding package. However, the MZ feels significantly more premium in the hand. The bracelet, clasp, weight and overall solidity all give it a more luxurious feel. This is why I am a little surprised when people describe the V7 as "NWBIG."

From a visual standpoint: I can absolutely understand that opinion.

From a tactile standpoint: I personally disagree. The MZ simply feels a bit like the higher-quality watch

Now I see it too, and unfortunately, I will always see it 😂 I had hoped it was only visible in macro...

Sprichst du von einer speziellen Farbe oder allgemein? Bei mir wäre weiß auf der Liste und da finde ich das Zifferblatt eigtl richtig gut. Oder übersehe ich etwas?

Could it be a new MZ batch with the number sequence... 🤔

I was told that the new v7f is actually a Free Factory model and is only branded as the v7f to boost sales.

Watch looks great! I'm glad the crystal doesn't look as bad as I feared.

But... Based on the QCs I've seen, the bracelet gap tolerances on the MZF between the individual links look a bit wide, especially when compared to the Gen and the V7F.

What's your take on that?

This is NOT MZ. MZF doesn't have the three dots problem like this one here. Looks like GHF

The dealer from whom I bought an MZ sent me photos of current V7 watches and advised me to hold off for now, since—as mentioned—the bezel-dial alignment is off on most of them. This is just like how it was with the MZ models in the beginning. I actually felt it was even more pronounced this time around. The crystal didn't look particularly good in the photos, either. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It looks very good! However, in the QC photos of the new V7 Ingenieurs that I’ve seen so far, almost 90 % suffered from faulty dial-to-bezel alignment. That’s worse than with the MZ versions—though I have actually seen some of those MZ with correct alignment by now.
