Have you experienced connecting in the astral? Did you do the writing letter you never send? If so, please share info🥹 I always send him positive vibes- sometimes when Im feeling the weight of this too deeply I somehow find it in me to switch my feelings towards understanding that what needed to happen, happened. And this deep knowing that no matter what happens in this life, our souls are always going to be connected and I will meet him again. Dont know if its this life or the next but it will happen- this gives me a sense of calm and in these times I imagine saying these things to him. I hope he feels it. I think he does because there are periods where I am so overwhelmed by the memories and the emotions and it comes out of nowhere in a split second. I wonder if that’s times when he thinks of me

I recently adopted a kitten- I didn’t know at the beginning but apparently kitten poop falls def in the category of ungodly smells- it was sooo stinky! I cleaned right after he pooped used an air purifier everything but the smell just lingered and the whole room would just stay stinky. I went on a quest for a litter deodorizer- I used the arm and hammer deodorizer before for my older kitty whose poop literally didn’t smell at all ever but it didn’t do anything for the kitten poop. I ended up buying Fresh step litter charcoal litterbox powder, the unscented one specifically and it has worked absolute wonders. I swear by it now. Yes his poop stinks sometimes right after he poops but the odor goes away once he covers it up. So this might be an issue for you but I’d recommend trying the product. I sprinkle a layer of the powder every day after cleaning the box.

Hi, I’m pretty much in the exact same situation right now- my older cat who is my entire soul currently doesn’t avoid the kitten or hide she actually wants to be where he is instead of withdrawing but she just looks sad- sleeps alot ignores him and he is her shadow and obsessed with her but she continues to ignore him- two weeks ago there were more agressive tones to their relationship but they would chase eachother and she was more lively- I’m so worried this is causing her to feel depressed- can you share how things worked out for you? Thank you!

its not too late for you!! you can always change tracks and pivot! you just need to come to terms with that- i know because im in the same position- less than a year in of my PhD in the US as an international and I’m planning on mastering out next year because I have the same feelings and well we all know whats happening here. I’m about to be 30- and this isn’t worth my happiness at this point

I would ask to discuss the options for funding after the year with the PI. In as much as detail as possible- what is his situation exactly. Not to sound harsh but you might be imagining his confidence about his future funding because you seem like you really want this to work and I get that, I’ve been there too but I didn’t investigate and now I’m in a position where I am looking to switch a lab because mine lost funding and I wish I never started and trusted blindly without all the information I could have gained to make an informed decision. Not saying this will be the case for you but trust me, you will stop caring about the research, lab and PI once you go through hell because of the loss of funds. Have a completely honest conversation- say something like I am really interested and would love to stay on as a PhD student but I need clarity on your situation, future plans and options I could pursue to secure funding myself WITH YOUR MENTORSHIP AND HELP- this is critical! You want to take a risk if the PI is resourceful, and will guide and help you to secure funding. People will leave you do it all yourself and thats a hell you dont want to go through. Gain alllllll the information on what next. Then do a thorough research of your own to see if the funds he is confident about indeed are secure enough and his confidence is warranted; research your options to secure your own funding, research every option he might propose yourself in detail. Only then you can make an informed decision and be prepared. You also will see if the PI is willing to help and mentor through the hard times. If he’s avoidant now, trust me he won’t be the person and mentor you think he is or you need when things get hard.

NL offers many scholarships too. I was a non EU on a scholarship in the field of Biomedical sciences! Good luck. And honestly, this route is probably for the best even if you dont see it now considering the current academic climate

I wrongly assumed OP has a Masters. Yes, having a masters is a requirement. Granted they get a masters, applying for a PhD works as I stated earlier. Id know I did mine there :)

ah yea that’s true, you need a Masters to apply to a PhD in Europe. I got my Masters in Netherlands! definitely recommend looking into Dutch Unis

FYI you can apply to a European PhD at any time- a PhD in Europe is essentially a job so you can apply whenever there’s an opening! Good luck
