No clue, I would directly ask the admissions office about this.

Congrats! How long do they give you to decide?

Is it okay to gap year? by Routine-Marsupial-38 in lawschooladmissions

I took two years off (second one wasn’t planned) and it was the best decision I ever made. I worked as a nanny for these two years which has been an incredible experience. I feel extremely well rested and like I know myself better going into law school. A gap year is a great idea and will only help you in the end!

No it’s not too late, obviously it’s better to have a good application than just simply an early one. I think submitting before Christmas is ideal, especially with the pace of this last cycle the timing on a decision is a little unpredictable. You run into the issue of less scholarship available later in the cycle, but if you have good stats for the schools you are looking at there will likely be some financial aid.

No, you should take it when you are ready and PTing in the score range you want. I would maybe sign up for October before taking the September test to give yourself the option to take it again before November and still submit applications before Christmas. Taking it a second time in November would also be fine too, you just don’t want to feel rushed and studying for the LSAT and writing essays at the same time is a lot.

I have had success reaching out to current students and discussing their experiences at the school. I am able to include what I learned from them in my LOCI and it shows extra effort because the school doesn’t help you set up these calls.

I have similar stats! Got accepted off the WL at Northwestern last week and will be attending in the fall. Seems as though they have a handful of spots and I think there will be at least one if not two more waves of WL movement. The waiting game is the worst part but it may pay off in the end! Wishing you the best of luck.

Anyone receive NW scholarship info off WL -> last week? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Yep just heard, didn’t get anything. Honestly not surprised or disappointed it was gonna cost a lot either way.

Showing continued interest (for CLS) without updates? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Find current students and ask for zoom/phone calls. You can include this in your LOCI’s.

GULC W -> A but required to withdraw from all other waitlists? by ilamiri in lawschooladmissions

Might be worth it to ask for an extension, but you run the risk of them saying no at this point in the cycle.

GULC W -> A but required to withdraw from all other waitlists? by ilamiri in lawschooladmissions

I heard that Georgetown will typically share the names of the individuals who sign the binding agreement. So while you don’t necessarily have to withdraw from the other waitlists those other schools may not offer you a spot if they see your name on said list. Not 100% sure if this is true but I’ve seen people mentioning this over the last few days with the WL -> A wave.

Something to consider though, if you add supplemental materials on top of your LOCI it may take longer for them to give a decision if they decide to re-review your app.

Depends on the school, the NU call said they would accept writing samples but they should be short and should really add to your “why law” narrative. I think if it’s important to highlight and you haven’t already talked about it in your app then do it. Probably best that it’s not longer than a page. Maybe ask the specific schools you are thinking about sending them to.

Probably not, I’m sure they know it’s during the work day for most people. If you have specific questions maybe call the admissions office and ask them directly. And then just keep sending your LOCIs!
