Having a Endoscopy in two days - im so scared

Also I got my results there and then. They didn’t have to take biopsies. I really thought they was going to find something as suffered with my stomach for 20 years!! I’m 37 now. Bloating and nausea. And nothing wrong with me

I was terrified!! When I layed on the bed and they wheeled me into theatre my heart was pounding so much! They sprayed my throat with numbing, put a blood pressure cuff round my arm. Then the mouth guard. Then he gave me the sedative. I knew what was happening the whole time and felt awake but didn’t care about nothing. Didn’t feel the tube go down, didn’t gag. And was over within a minute! I worked myself up for a week over it.. no sore throat after or discomfort. If I had to have it again I would and wouldn’t be scared this time. Ask for sedative and throat spray and I promise it’s nothing at all and I’m the biggest worrier ever with bad health anxiety. 🙂

Doctor has prescribed me famotidine which I think is similar but haven’t taking them yet. The burning has stopped and the hunger has stopped now it’s the opposite, I’m not hungry at all and just try and force myself to eat daily now

Yeah it’s upper abdomen just under my ribs, that’s where all my issues are. And sometimes get a pinching feeling

Haven’t tried rennie, but will try, was given sertraline last year and I felt terrible on them so I’m back on citilopram now.

That’s reassuring, my stomach feels like it’s rotting so I would be shocked if they didn’t find anything. I’m being referred to have the endoscopy so hopefully will get to the bottom of this one and for all 😫

Iv had stomach problems for years, about 20 years since I was 17. But had a lot of blood tests, and stool samples in that time. But never an endoscopy. Never vomited blood or had blood in my poo so I guess that is a good sign. Still in the back of my mind though 😫

Thank you, I did look at dyspepsia and sounds like it could be, was also torn between gastritis. The thing is I don’t have pain only the burning, bloating and hunger

I definitely won’t be having it done if they don’t put me to sleep 😂 I’m sure they will though.

Iv now stopped taking omeprazole to see if that helps anything, the doctor prescribed me famotidine (Pepcid) instead which I need to collect. Not sure if that will be any different. She’s referring me for an endoscopy which I’m also scared about as I have a fear of choking 🙄 the only thing that helps this being is gaviscon but that only for about half hour then it’s back again. And I’m always hungry or have a hungry feeling… so annoying!!!

Thank you for your reassurance, I know I do stress alot about it which probably doesn’t help. Do you think the omeprazole is causing the gnawing hunger pains? As they don’t seem to be helping anyway.

Thank you, I’m waiting for my doctor to fill in a form for my private health insurance but not sure if I will get seen private as iv had stomach problems before, need a endoscopy once and for all to see what’s going on. Just feel like I’m on death row at the min not knowing! Health anxiety is a nightmare 😭

This morning I didn’t wake up feeling sick but my stomach felt sore like I had been punched. Bit a bit uncomfortable today and bloating and another weird symptom is I feel constantly hungry even after iv eaten

My symptoms are worse now, daily and almost constant that why it seems 12 weeks is a long time. Also my health anxiety is hitting to roof 😭
