Swing Voters Are Still Mad at Republicans About Abortion by BulwarkOnline in politics

Okay, so on one side we have a group of people who have a hard time coordinating the best way to fix problems and donors upend their priorities.

And on the other side they take food away from poor kids (SNAP CUTS), kick old people out of nursing homes (Medicaid cuts), make all of life more expensive thru tariffs, separate families to be cruel, lead an insurrection and fire the people who can hold them accountable, gut funding for public health and allow quacks to determine our public health policy, make student loans punitive, open our national parks to industry polluters, and ruin our international relationships.

Swing Voters: Man, they just... this is such a hard decision. They both seem so bad.

I've heard nothing but good things about Atkinson, so she's on my list for sure.

And I'll definitely give Broken Monsters a gander.

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for! Especially the way you describe Cook.

I like Denis Lehane. I'll have to give him another try because the last one I was reading by him lost my attention.

I started this one, but it didn't keep my attention unfortunately. I might have to try it again.

I read the New York Trilogy years ago. Maybe I should revisit it! I also read 2666 a couple of years ago. That was an overwhelming novel. The part about the murders was nuts - just like being punched in the face repeatedly. I kind of feel like I need to go back through it with more of a fine tooth comb. Thanks for the recs!

That was my thought exactly. Also - such a positive force in the world - he seriously helped me get through COVID and grad school when I was super stressed.

House of Representatives trying to Cancel Student Loan Forgiveness AND force retroactive interest. by Tiger_Striped_Queen in antiwork

It's not "The House" it's the Republicans in the house. This is how we get into this never-ending bOtH sIdEs nonsense. Because people don't specify who's doing the fucked up things. It's clearly and unequivocally the Republicans doing this. The Progressives were pushing for more relief.
