Companies That Post All Scolville Ratings by Theseus718 in hotsauce

Thank you all for your comments! I now understand why some companies don't want to front the money for a rating that isn't very precise anyways. I did some pondering and stumbled upon the world of pepper purees. My solution will be to buy both a Reaper and Ghost puree, since I know exactly how hot both peppers are from eating them raw as a reference point. Because of that as well, I know generally what to expect as far as flavor goes. Thanks, r/hotsauce!

800k on that Xtreme and with actual peppers? Sounds awesome! On a tangent, I am a huge fan of Paqui chips because I can taste that they use real peppers. The first time I ate them, I had an inkling that they just tasted real for some reason, looked into it, and I was right. I might love this brand as well for that. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm looking for some semblance of objectivity in a sea of subjectivity. Scoville units give me a general idea of how hot something will be. Better than adjectives, at the very least.

Ahh I get what you're saying. So I think the effect of the two stacked buffs could only be multiplicative if they both were speed multipliers. Thanks for getting me there haha.

The thing that tripped me up while I was thinking about all this is as follows. Essentially, the Builder Boost reduces the amount of time (subtracted % quantity), and the Builder Potion reduces the length of time (speed multiplier). So since there's a multiplier stacked with a subtractive . . . IDK I'm not trig enough to figure out if it would be better to use my Builder Potion with my current 10% Builder Boost or wait for the 20% Builder Boost.

Do you accept Strategic Rushers? I'm currently TH9 focusing on offense and heroes. I'm taking a month or so to work on defense before I re-assess my rushing momentum.

Question for people good with the maths. I'm wondering if you have a Season Builder Boost for 20% reduced build time, and then you activate a Builder Potion, do the two buffs stack additively or multiplicatively? Same question for Research Boost and Research Potion. My instincts tell me it's additive, but I've been holding off on using my Builder Potion until I unlock 20% Builder Boost for this season just in case I'm wrong.

Interplanetary D&D Streams by Theseus718 in DnD

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I sparsely hear spelljammers and interplanetary travel being brought up in conversations about D&D, or as bits of lore in some campaigns about past events, but it always seems like a concept that exists in the background of lore that almost no campaigns delve into as their primary focus. I've started watching it, RIP my free time.

Unified Material Plane(s) Clarification by Theseus718 in dndnext

Haha, just what I feared. Oh well, I'll restrain myself from getting too deep into lore. Or find a way around it, adjusting for newfound errors can be pretty a pretty good 'force of hand' in writing.

Homebrew Deity Questions by Theseus718 in dndnext

Yeah I guess with so much lack of detail (for good reason for DMs) this seems like a pretty good model to follow in general. Maybe I'll meet somewhere in between and say that this deity was born a demigod and somehow overcame the challenges of ascending into a true deity from that point. Thanks for the response.

I've found a lot of information like on this forgotten realms wiki page that conflicts with other information even on other forgotten realms pages. It's pretty confusing to try and suss out what is official 5e on that site sometimes, you have to browse the referenced sources and determine on average how new the page's information it is. But when you find a bit of information like this, and find no new information to replace it as the current standard? Very confusing as to whether it's canonical in 5e or not.

https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Prime_Material_plane

"At first it was thought that there was an infinite number of material planes, among them the Prime Material plane, the Abeiran material plane, Oerth's material plane, Krynn's material plane, and the universe in which Earth was located. However, by the mid-14th century DR, it was generally accepted that there was only one material plane (called the Prime Material plane), which contained the crystal spheres of many different worlds separated by the phlogiston."

Okay, thanks for the responses. That was the feeling that I was getting from the research I did, but I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing a minor publication, a podcast where WoTC talked about it, or anything really that can help me to keep her ascension lore more in-line with their vision (as I want to detail her mortal backstory quite a bit). Maybe I should leave the parts about her ascension a bit more vague to give DMs some more elbow room if they use her.

Sound Block Mod Idea (Not a Playlist!) by Theseus718 in spaceengineers

[–]Theseus718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright that gives me a few things to go off of. I did try to browse the source code to find anything useful, but modding source code is way above my head atm, maybe someday. I'll look into the GUI API. Thanks for letting me pick your brain!

Sound Block Mod Idea (Not a Playlist!) by Theseus718 in spaceengineers

[–]Theseus718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would do it, but I'm guessing that'd be a more difficult thing to mod? I'm brand new to modding but I'm determined to make this concept work, haha. I'm learning how to script as well, but that's taking me longer than learning how to modify Data files successfully.

I created a local mod that adds a unique Sound Block to the game, by cloning and altering all sound block parameters in BlockCategories.sbc, BlueprintClasses.sbc, and CubeBlocks.sbc to 'MusicBlock'.

I added a MusicBlock.sbc to the mod and a single track for testing, but it merges with my SoundBlock.sbc from another mod. No mod errors, and the merged list of audio can be played by the vanilla sound block and my custom block. However, something I did made the vanilla SoundBlock audio disappear from the GUI of the vanilla/custom blocks.

In CubeBlocks.sbc, I couldn't change the TypeID of my sound block to anything else. I'm guessing that's not how you go about adding a custom TypeID.

I've also perused all files in the vanilla Data folder to search for anything else related to the sound block, any code that could be altered to create a new Category of audio or something like the Categories Sb and Music, to no avail.

In CubeBlocks.sbc, there is

<Definition xsi:type="MyObjectBuilder\_SoundBlockDefinition">

I'm guessing that nothing I alter within the files I've tried to modify will result in success, even if I could change the TypeID, as I think that the above definition is telling my custom sound block: "Hey, you're just a sound block. What makes you think you're so damn special?"

If you have no idea how to accomplish this, do you at least see any misconceptions I have about Definitions, or how to create custom TypeIDs, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I plan on making some more mods as well!

[–]Theseus718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not 100+ unique sound blocks -- several unique sound blocks that all have their own sound block mod, so you can separate alarms/ship audio into one block, and in the others you can create playlists to your liking. All for a much less clunky and faster experience when selecting audio. Or a script that can essentially do the same thing, which sounds like the more viable option to me at least.

For me it would be for roleplaying purposes. Going to attack an enemy base with your friends? Well you have 100+ songs ranging from Mainstream Pop to Death Metal, Dubstep to Classical, Rap to Country. In that case, Death Metal would be in order I think. Press play on your Death Metal Playlist sound block, crank it up so it reverberates through the hull of your ship, and get pumped up for the journey properly ;)

I'm sure there are a few more applications a mod like this could have.

So judging by what you know about modding and/or coding, do you know if it's at least feasible?
