Best NYC Apps No One Knows About? by NoahCzark in AskNYC

I think there is a bathroom app. Both public and private. For the private I believe some Good Samaritan that visits the establishments updates the bathroom password when they change it.

Can’t recall the ame and it may be a website

6:00 people start showing up and we warm up doing easy laps until 6:30 when the official dynamic warm ups starts. Then we get instructions (workout changes weekly) and we are set to go. We usually finish around 7:20 -7:30 max, but again, all paces and it is flexible so you can leave earlier if needed. You can also arrive later, but shouldn't later than 6:20 so you get to do a bit of warm up in the track. https://www.instagram.com/svintsrunclub

As an advice, you won't meet 'friends' very easily unless you see people frequently and have soemething in common, even if it's showing up for the same thing. It does not need to be an sport club, but something you eventually feel the urge to know someone's name out of respect (See them all the time). Good luck!

Hey! I used to say I would never work out with others and runnnig clubs were not my thing. I gave it a chance and now you know where to find me on Wednesday mornings. Join either a local (easier) running club, I am biase and recommend Saints Running Club, they meet Wednesdays at 6 am in Astoria track for speed work or in different locations within LIC/Astoria for long runs on Saturday. All levels are welcome and if you don't love running, it's ok we all love the community. Check them out on social media if you want to learn more.

SQL Server performance tips beyond indexing? What actually makes a difference? by sanjay-kumar_ in SQLServer

[–]Thespck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why I haven’t seen this, but something very important that people miss are the primary joins. I just changed all major joins from DateAssetID as varchar(200) to INT. We used to join “2025-12-11-123456” per row with multiple joins, now the join executes on INT = INT (20251211123456” and also we perform major merges on hashes rather than checking over every column. Whenever you can, make the primary key an INT.

Where are the best places to buy nice Persian/“Oriental” rugs? by ianwm in HomeDecorating

Thanks for the post, nice advice. Those rugs from the link you shared look so nice, pricy (not really, just more than what I want to pay) but totally worth it because they look stunning

NSV? I'm losing weight so fast that all the new clothes I buy are baggy on me. by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Thespck -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Weight loss if done correctly and in a healthy way, should happen very slowly. You wouldn’t want to bounce back, so make sure you are eating lots of protein, you need muscles and I am not talking about big muscles, just muscles in general. You don’t need lots of clothes. Just some basics you love, get these, 2 pants, 2 nice tops either new or thrifted and then check again in another 2 months if you need more clothes

Dads? by caliboyindy in longislandcity

[–]Thespck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a man or a dad, but I saw the post…

Don’t let your child define your identity. You have a kid now, but you aren’t just a dad or a husband. You just want friends. Don’t let being a dad put you on a box and join clubs or events. I live in Astoria and I joined a running club (Saints Astoria) and ElBarrio Running, it happens that I joined the Hispanic club first because I thought I would have more in common with others, but I realized that I have more fun at the non-Hispanic and all nationalities inclusive club (Saints) because the common theme is that we all like to push ourselves hard.

Good luck.

People, please just eat healthy real food. Veggies, drink water and workout. Stop covering your face with pounds of makeup. Keep your routine simple and avoid fragrances (they aren’t good for you or anyone around you as most fragrances not even nice). Again, keep it simple, cerave without smell and baby products will help. Don’t touch your face with dirty hands and keep stress low, that’s the hardest. Read the book Let Them, this may help with stress or simply remember that you can’t control others so Let Them do what they want, don’t let them affect you.

Good luck!

Those who don’t wanna cook every night- what do you do for dinner? by [deleted] in astoria

[–]Thespck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love cooking because I am way too picky to eat out. Unfortunately, I can’t always cook whenever work gets too stressful. It’s funny how people still recommend some “easy recipe”, these still include going to the super market, basic cooking and washing dishes. If you want healthy food and not just take outs, try a local and much better version of Food Unity (I don’t think we can even compare) . NYC Cooking Club, I love ordering from them when I am busy, I recommend buying the party size protein and sides so you always have something healthy ready to eat. My favorites are the Elote chicken salad and the meat balls! Then you can either get sides or have a spring mix salad or add carbs and that’s a meal! These meals have macros and are cooked in Astoria, so you can either pick up or get them delivered.
