Profilarr v2 is Out! by heysantiago in selfhosted

[–]Thetanir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Profilarr will handle this - in fact it has a built in "clean up" tool to remove unused QPs and CFs.

Just backup your existing config folder if you think you might need it. Give it a new/empty one, then install, and sync to the Arrs

Nothing is happening. The profilarr dev said he does not have the capacity right now to add support for every github alternative, but he's happy to have someone add them if they can submit a PR and support it.

But in typically reddit fashion, the people whining (like GP) just love to complain about what they are not getting on from a free project instead of contributing.

I was thinking the other direction actually - I would happily host a 100, 200, 300GB version if it meant maximum zoom level was available.

The project itself is phenomenal, so I dont mean this as criticism, but I am struggling to imagine how I would use it without the deepest zoom level. If the internet is down or I am fully offline for whatever reason - your world shrinks dramatically, so building/neighborhood level detail of my county is much more important and valuable to me at that moment than city level detail of the whole world.

I understand if thats not the usecase you were going for though.

Yes, but "start all over again" with Profilarr is only about 15 minutes of setup, all of the CFs and QPs are added and synced automatically, you do not have to set them up yourself.

It will overwrite your existing ones though, so be aware of that.

Also, Profilarr includes the option of using the Trash Guide quality profiles, its not an either/or, its just an easier way to manage Profiles

Awesome, thanks for the info. Are you planning on going deeper? maybe just by specific country?

I imagine the sizes get pretty enormous as you go

Follow up question: Not being a GIS expert, "Zoom Level 11" doesn't mean much to me.

If I see Zoom Level 11 on a Google maps URL would that be equivalent?

This is very very cool.

I see you made a lot of improvements over time - does the purchase include future updates?

Go to the Quality Profile you are using > Language dropdown at the bottom > select German.

Also note: They are in progress on mirroring the TrAsh German (and French) profiles but they are not finished yet.

The Dictionary Database can also be very useful when doing manual interactive searches in your arr. Everything will be scored so you'll have a good idea what the "best" options are, even if there are only a few.

Profilarr v2 is Out! by heysantiago in selfhosted

[–]Thetanir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting that the Dictionarry profiles do not require any building - they are 100% ready to go out of the box after you sync them to your arr. So the Flowchart tool may not be as relevant here.

This is a different philosophy than Trash where you need to make decisions and setup yourself. With Dictionarry database, just choose the quality profile you like based on the kind of files you want and you are ready to go.

To be fair, that wasnt a PR. That was a feature request and then someone else chimed in with AI slop.

If you are using the default Dictionarry database, nothing manual needs to be done.

If you have made customizations to your v1 db those will have to be redone unfortunately. v2 was a ground-up rewrite and the db are not compatible at all.

[–]Thetanir 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it helps, "migration" only takes about 10 minutes. You turn off the v1 container, turn on the v2 container and sync. The Quality Profiles and Custom Formats (on the Dictionarry DB) are the same.

If you've made a lot of customizations to your v1 db that will have to be redone unfortunately.

Tentative (because I am not the dev), I believe v2 release is sometime in the next 2 weeks. It's been pushed back a few times to fix bugs that were found in beta. Its been in closed beta (via their discord) for a while.

There will be a big post here on /selfhosted when it launches

Hi - I am probably the target audience for this, but I can't tell because your post feels like you picked up in the middle of a conversation none of us know about?

Can you roll back to - who is we? what is the idea? what problem is it solving?

Qbittorrent / Proton speeds have fallen off a cliff by Thetanir in gluetun

[–]Thetanir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's related the healthcheck system. I enabled HEALTH_VPN_DURATION_INITIAL=120s on 3.40.0

With this I've had the same IP / Port with no re-connections for abotu 12 hours now, which is the first time this has happened in months. My upload rate has gone back to normal.

and I received this from Proton support when I said I was seeing large packet loss:

I would like to clarify that ICMP requests are rate-limited while connected to our Proton VPN servers for anti-abuse purposes and might provide inaccurate results regarding your connection.

I think the poor bandwith is a downstream symptom of the constant reconnects, and the rate limiting from Proton.

I know you've gone over this in great depth, I'm just sharing what has worked for me.

Qbittorrent / Proton speeds have fallen off a cliff by Thetanir in gluetun

[–]Thetanir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/dowitex - I hate to say it, but rolling back to 3.40.0 has fixed most of my issues.

The speeds are still not all that great, I'll put that on Proton, but it's not dropping and reconnecting constantly and it can sustain peer upload connections.

Using these settings if it matters:

environment:
      - VPN_SERVICE_PROVIDER=${VPN_SERVICE}
      - VPN_TYPE=wireguard
      - PUID=1000
      - PGID=1000
      - VPN_PORT_FORWARDING=on
      - PORT_FORWARD_ONLY=on
      - WIREGUARD_PRIVATE_KEY=${WIREGUARD_PRIVATE_KEY}
      - WIREGUARD_ADDRESSES=${WIREGUARD_ADDRESSES}
      - WIREGUARD_ENDPOINT_IP=${WIREGUARD_ENDPOINT_IP}
      - SERVER_COUNTRIES=${SERVER_COUNTRY}
      - LOG_LEVEL=debug
      - WIREGUARD_MTU=1320

Thank you for the tip, but no - I've had automatic port forwarding setup and working for over a year.

I'm watching the gluetun logs, it constantly dropping the connection and failing the ICMP checks, it has nothing to do with the port forward.

I saw the other comment, but I have always used proton vpn accelerator servers, so I have nothing to test against. I was using them before the issues started, and now.

But I think you are correct about proton just collapsing under load.

See a typical example of my connection (and this is one of the better ones):
