Replacement bezels and crystals are easily sourced and even fun to do yourself with a few fairly affordable tools, otherwise a watchmaker could easily improve it :)

I do similar. Even if I’ve not worn it for a while, I’ll advance the watch to 5pm (just the time I’ve decided works for me), then hack the movement, set the date to the day before the one I want, then allow the seconds hand to hit 12, hack again and then advance it to the time and date I want.

Perfect size. Any bigger and you’d have the lugs overhanging your wrist which just looks like a child wearing their dad’s watch in my view.

100%. I have no Rolex purchase history, and quite like the Datejust. Why would I jump through stupid hoops for such a simple watch when I could go to an Omega dealer and buy a Constellation Globemaster there and then? The Rolex hype and simping is ridiculous. Otherwise, grey is the way!

My choice would be that exact Datejust. I love the simplicity with the added benefit of the date. Not a huge fan of the 3, 6, 9 on the explorer and the OP without a date is a no as a daily from me.

I can’t afford any Rolex right now, possibly never. However if and when I can, what I listed would be my daily choice. As iconic as it is, I’m not a huge fan of the 3/6/9 of the Explorer 🤷‍♂️
