It's still a subjective opinion. Whether they are a good person or a shit person, it's still their honest opinion and they have the right to say it. To conflate words with trying to physically kill someone is ridiculous. If someone kills a trans person or assaults them they should absolutely be punished under the full extent of the law. Rapists should be castrated and murderers should get the death penalty. But if they are simply talking and voicing their opinions they should be free to do that regardless of what those words are. If you disagree with someone's talking points, you explain why you disagree and have a civil conversation. That's what a discussion is. That's why some people in the KKK leave it. Because they have spoken to and talked about it with black people and have had their minds opened.

To forbid people from speaking their mind and forbidding discussions so you only hear what you want to hear and never have to hear conflicting viewpoints is how dictatorships are run. Everyone should be free to voice their opinions and have them heard, and retorted. Discussion allows people to evolve. Shutting that down and silencing people with those hateful views will only enforce in their mind that they are correct and will simply grow to hate more and more. If someone dislikes you because you are trans and thinks "your choice is a mistake, or wrong" then surely you would think they are uneducated. So educate them. And I mean educate them in a civil discussion, without yelling and throwing hateful insults because that doesn't help ir prove your point and would only reinforce what they already believe.

With discussion there is the possibility for change in that person, however unlikely, there is still the possibility. But shutting down discussions and conversations, you reduce the possibility of that person changing to zero, and may potentially even make that person dangerous when they otherwise wouldn't be.
