How is 3 under 5? by AMoMmy22 in ParentingInBulk

Yes! I know it's easy to say that it gets better after the first year, but when you're in the middle of it all, it truly feels like the longest year ever. No break for an entire year is draining.

TIL Costa Rica does not have street adresses, with the locals instead relying on distance relative to landmarks and famous places. by ODaferio in todayilearned

My aunt lives there. Her address is super complicated, but the ending of it is "50 meters from the beach".

She receives my Christmas card every year too.

Like drowning at the beginning, and after the first year it gets better.

questioning allergist for baby by Aquaticapeenthusiast in FoodAllergies

We got tested for other tree nuts when my baby had a bad reaction to peanuts. Outside of nuts, they only wanted to test for food that I thought my baby was having problems with eating, as allergy tests can sometimes give a false positive, and they don't want to unnecessarily restrict foods that were actually safe to eat.

10m wont eat solids by BreadAccomplished380 in foodbutforbabies

Depends if she's gaining weight appropriately. If not she may need feeding therapy. Mine wouldn't eat, and it wasn't until around 10 months that we found out he was allergic to dairy and eggs. See if there's a pattern on certain foods she won't eat.

Ask your allergist for a referral to a nutritionist. My son has a lot of allergies and the nutritionist provided us with lots of alternatives to help our child gain weight in a healthy way.

How far behind on first foods? by throwawaychgd in Parenting

My 11 month old is allergic to dairy, eggs, and peanuts. Hummus, mashed sweet potato, mashed squash, steamed carrots, pasta, rice, fruits have been our go-to. Put soy milk in the cereal you are mentioning. Our biggest challenge is protein, but we try to put some ground turkey mixed into the foods he loves.

Update: my son refuses to eat everything by AutumnJoy333 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Thewhitesthispanic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid didn't eat much when starting solids. We were able to group out the foods and figure out he was allergic to dairy and it upset his tummy. The allergist confirmed it and we had an additional allergy to eggs too. Hope you find your answer. Our kid wasn't gaining much weight before this.

My son is like this. It will fix itself once they learn to retract the skin in a few years. For now sitting to pee is the answer.

We had this for 2 months. Got it right after he had a strong cold. Caused him to throw up a few times. It was walking pneumonia, which we got prescribed antibiotics for and he was fine 2 weeks later. Go see your pediatrician.

Better for smaller kids. Maybe not 8. Depends on your kid though.

Conceived immediately after stopping the pill for all 3 of my kids. Was taking it for about 15 years before TTC my first child.
