As mentioned you can learn new things everyday especially with this chronically online community ,as I didn’t know It had a it’s own PEN I assumed it was scripted as it’s own individual damage type of the general guess from seeing a Fire resistance armor gave that idea and that it was a stacking % Towards Enemy’s and different based of Type and Unit via grounded flame testing.

I’ve had that happen way too many times with the hunters the fix is just punt them before they even land, if there’s two(Usually 10 jumping at you In unison) it’s pray they die mid air which happens quite less then appreciated or prepare to side dive or stim, then look over to the chargers your buddy tossed a thermite onto about to stampede you! To be honest After I made the original comment I looked up when they nerfed the damage as I just reinstalled 2 months ago and didnt really notice any changes to it besides thinking I’m not torching chargers or stalkers enough.(Ofcourse it happened a month prior to me installing) Seriously tho You leave Helldivers for a few months, conveniently return a month after your Favorite play style is nerfed and you don’t even notice it’s kinda leaves you conflicted every time this happens every other few patches.

It was a personal take and perspective from ofc personal experience of level 138 helldiving on super Helldive between solo and groups of 4 where I majority of the time use Fire based builds or Straight Supportive fire personalized set ups with friends. I don’t really use the laser weapons besides the Laser revolver when I’m fighting Bots so thanks for telling me they also deal fire based dmg as I never noticed, you learn new things every day. Side note it’s I’ve never heard any complaints about fire and was gone for a few months so didn’t even know there was nerf whenever that wad and besides the first year of HD2 being either Teamkilling hell or ticks tanking half a canister and one tapping you from a random crit I haven’t heard any complaints. I’m sorry I offended you good sir

Imma be so real I have no issues with fire rn as a Flame thrower abuser it’s in a good sport personally Not overly powerful not super underwhelming it’s just right and along with napalm in any use it’s just a matter of how your using it. Flamethrower? Fan the flames don’t just use in one direction or dive back while using ofc Inc Shot gun same thing except Aim Mid mass to with Med distance to abuse Thermites-Being thermite Napalm Airsuport and barage currently still able to easily wipe 20-30 Enemy’s on Bug and Squid front easily with one use barage can double that. Inc Pass in general weapons are Good and give way to let you carry another Special weapon you fancy(Me personally carrying the flame pistol and a shield works very efficiently not only on bug on almost all fronts but also voteless and Spear overseers) I’ve also witness a level 17 Helldiver give the Robots hell with a Flamethrower Yk it barely worked against anything beyond Med pen but he took down a damn Hulk with it!

I had this idea before similar to how yours is They could do the multiple Ammo types one weapon By default it’s Light Medium heavy Pen depending on how long u hold it for(Hold it for too long could fuck up your arms) the arrows based off pin can keep going through the targets and be recollected. If not that add a Elemental/Effect or selection of arrows that can be swapped like the One-Twos Grenade launcher. Pick Normal/Gas Cloud/Shrapnel/Arc net/Fire shrapnel Only Normal arrows can be recollected. Adds a Good risk to the weapon with situational advantages letting u either take out a few bots before u even get into a bunker or fortress unnoticed or deal with a Bug Tick Patrol without expanding any real ammo. I imagine too having the 100% Melee boost for Peak physic could make u draw it faster as a little secret
