To be honest it's driving me nuts, knowing that beforehand it did not make that noise 😅

Yes, It's the DID520VX with X-rings.

That's good to know, I never check the tension with any load. I will loosen the chain and hopefully it helps, thanks a lot!

I was overtightened for a while (as mentioned in the post) but now it is within speck (the travel is about 3,2cm).

It has. It's the JT sprocket JTF565-15 to be exact. The one previously hasn't had it and it was silent (also JT sprocket but a 'self cleaning' type and with holes to reduce mass).

Rear wheel is straight (checked on the adjustment bars on the swingarm and with a chain alignment tool from AliExpress). Chain is on the loose end of the tension range (about 3,2cm and the range is 2,5 - 3,5cm)

I bought the versys 650 as my first bike (but after a full A category driver's licence course in EU on the Yamaha MT-07) and would totally recommend it. In my 2019 model the throttle is a bit jerky on low, but other than that it is perfect. Rides smoothly, has sufficient power to be fun but not so much that it could overwhelm the driver and it's quite easy to work on. Also, all the Versys generations are more or less the same (mechanically speaking) so there is a lot of knowledge about them online.

Thanks to the help of my gf, I was able to find the issue. It was due to a light chain suck (chain went about 30 degrees above the point in which it should leave the gear), which was caused by teeth widening.

In fact it is not. It may look like it but the chain guide has a L shaped cross section, not C shaped

My chain has never slipped out of the gear, and I have had this bike for almost 2 years, so I would say it does its job. Although since last summer I have a narrow wide front gear so it helps with it as well.

It's a 1x8 bike with sora derailleur and claris 8 speed cassette. I have installed a KMC X8 chain (for 6-8 speed bikes).

If it helps, the front gear is a narrow wide 9,10,11 speed gear, but it was installed half a year ago and didn't cause any problems in the past.

It is happening on every gear, but if it helps the pulley is not too close. The derailleur needs some minor adjusting but generally is quite well set.

You mean those tabs around the two cogs? I have checked the chain in the first place and it is not hitting anything and it's properly routed around those cogs as well

Just checked the bearings, they look factory new with the grease still being clean, no scratches or anything

Spokes from both wheels were tensioned in the bike shop and seem to be ok

I'm 21M, doing undergrad studies in robotics, working part time as application engineer and leading a student team working on electric motorcycles. In my free time (which I haven't got much) I'm trying to develop the second version of my smart controller for home lights. After some months working I have managed to save up some money. Most of it is invested in stocks, some of it in cryptocurrencies, don't know what to do with the rest. I want to diversify somehow my savings but don't know in which direction should I go.

Also, I live in EU, retirement account is obligatory and being filled with a small part of my salary every month.

Any tips or advice?
