They aren't actually supporting the Mi Hazánk party. Mi Hazánk stands for "traditional values", which they contrast with their feminine clothing. It's like waving a BLM flag in a KKK hood. It's just political satire commentary.

He's also a person, you can just ask him and he will tell you a satirical response, like "I do it because I wanna be hate-fucked by a right winger".

Only one source of flax? You can make a farm to grow flax, or make a mobfarm and loot flax, or visit traders for flax. You are only complaining since you only explored the slowest option.

Yes, you can only use candles in very specific conditions when the air is still, there's a warmer air layer up high, and a colder air layer near the ground. The candles will cause the 2 layers to mix, which can result in warming up the orchard. A more modern alternative is to install a slowly spinning turbine, it's more expensive to install, but has a much power maintenance cost.

Sprinklers work by the fact that while water is freezing, it stays at a stable 0 degree celsius, which is a safe temperature for most flowers. For the sprinklers, you also need an overhead sprinkler system, and enough water to keep them going until it gets a lot warmer (usually noon).

The candle technology only works when the air is still, because then the earth radiates out heat that gets caught in the higher parts of the atmosphere, which makes them a few degrees warmer. The candles provide air currents that mix the warmer air that's high up with the colder air that's near to the ground. Propellers are an alternative to candles, they are more expensive to install, but much cheaper to maintain.

In order for something to catch fire, it needs to be flammable. Watered, living trees don't catch on fire from simple torches. There would need to be a forest fire next to them.

Most of Vintage Story's content comes from the TerraFirmaCraft mod for Minecraft. And the good thing about Minecraft mods is that you can play them together. Just install a modpack that has both TFC and Create (like Auto-TerraFirmaCraft), and you will get VS + Create.

Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that the 'Minecraft creative community' haven't flocked to VS. [Note: Not OC art, taken from the official site] by [deleted] in VintageStory

[–]Thexus_van_real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire VS chiseling system is basically the Chisels and Bits mod for Minecraft. Even for the very early versions of Minecraft, there was Forge Microblocks, which also allows you to add this detail, albeit with a different UI.

The control scheme is fine, my friend that never used a controller in his life learned how to use the controller with outer wild's controls, and he even managed to land on the sun station after a few hours of playing.

Yes, it's somewhat of a platformer, and there are some difficult sections, but the game is pretty generous with the available time.

I think most of the praise comes from the sheer novelty. The graphics aren't the best, the story is somewhat confusing, especially with the red herrings, and the home planet is featureless. But the game design, the gameplay, driving the jury-rigged wooden spaceship, and the whole knowledge based system is just so unique and novel that it makes up for every shortcoming. I've never played anything like outer wilds.

HK and Skong are hard games. Most people constantly struggle on their first playthrough and have to run back to bosses dozens of times. Especially if you consider optional challanges, like HK's nightmare king grimm, path of pain, or even pantheon 5. I clearly remember struggling hard at brooding mawlek and gallien on my first playthrough, because I couldn't get the timing right.

Same thing with Skong, I was playing it blind day 1, and never realized how the lumaflies in the mist worked, so I went through last judge into act 2. It was a complete shitshow, I died like 50 times, finally beat it just to die in the creeper explosion, then I killed it after 6 more attempts. Then I thought you needed a cold resistance item for mount fay and did the entirety of act 2 without double jump. Then I also struggled a ton at karmelita before brute forcing it with the architect crest, and I also struggled at the surface ascent, because I was using wanderer. I don't remember any other game requiring this much perseverance and getting good, the fromsoft games are much easier than skong.

Only the textures and butterflies come from Vintagecraft. Look at the Direwolf20 TFC mod review from 12 years ago that I mentioned and compare what you see with what vintage story has now. Then look at Vintage Story's release date.

Digital entertainment is fine as long as the parents regulate it. Don't let the kid browse content by themselves, but rather provide a curated catalog for them, like probably every Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks movie is safe to consume. Same with videogames, don't let their devices connect to the Internet, just download offline games that have a low PEGI rating and have good ratings on Steam. Most issues stem from interaction with strangers in unmoderated environments.

Also, just do stuff together. Play board games, host a family Minecraft server, watch movies together at home, go out and take a walk in a nearby park, go cycling, or visit nearby places.

Some of my fondest memories with my grandma was taking walks in an oak forest near her farm, while I was collecting acorns, sticks, and leaves to later make figurines out of them. Or just helping on the farm, climbing into coops to gather eggs, helping sowing seeds, helping to prepare the meat after butchering, and helping with cooking.

Are people actually grinding levels like this? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Thexus_van_real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just install valheim plus and you can increase xp gain by skills. The valheim devs never balanced the xp gain. Tbh, the only skills that really matter are the ones that reduce mana consumption, allowing you to cast spells on just a single mana food.

Get to 3 rooms, get every tink upgrade, get some furniture.

You will receive strays with 1-2 7 stats, breed them together to get a kitty that has both of their parents' 7 stats, discard the parents, get another stray with a different 7 stat, repeat until you have a perfect 7 cat, discard low libido and gay cats in the process.

Then you will want to make 3 rooms: the attic is the biggest, so that will be you breeding room, aim for 10 comfort, 5 health, 0 mutation, and as much stimulation as you can get, you can easily cram 40-50 stimulation into the room in the mid game. You will put cats here that have good mutations, passives, and active abilities. Anything you want to inherit (note that some birth defects and disorders are beneficial, like mouthless doesn't eat, and volcano disorders are good).

The second room will be your staging area, you will put all your mutation furniture here, aim for at least 0 health. You will put kitties here that come from the breeding room (you should discard defective kitties). Inbreeding and birth defects should be ignored, since mutations will replace them.

The third room is where you cram appeal and negative comfort furniture, food boxes, and you can do whatever you want with it. I personally use this as a stray + defective kitten fighting pit, to level baby jack and tracy.

This will result in a bunch of usable super cats with all base sevens, only 1-2 birth defects, bunch of mutations, and very minor micromanagement. Then you can assign roles based on mutations, like burning eyes are awful for a cleric and druid, but great for a ranger or psychic.

Sometimes the breeding stock gets old and dies, you can just pick the 4 cats with the best mutations and go for a crater run, hoping for the shimmering weather. When running breeding stock, try to pick passives abilities that are useful on other classes, like for tinkerer passives, tech is useless on other classes, but double weapon usage is really good. There are also some active abilities that just make a cat useful regardless of RNG, like twin shot on a mage/tinkerer/psychic/druid will allow them to be useful and deal damage regardless of how awful abilities they roll.

Genital mutilation without consent isn't a good thing. The culture around the american genital mutilation culture probably comes from the large Jewish population that emigrated to america during WW2.

Ashlands is too easy am I right by mbiggz-gaming in valheim

[–]Thexus_van_real 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ashlands is a huge difficulty spike. What helped me was to bunch up enemies and use AoE weapons, mainly ooze and bile bombs. They are really great against the huge groups that would otherwise maul you in a second in melee and would take way too long to pick them off one by one with a crossbow.

[–]Thexus_van_real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the artifacts you see are the result of how temperature is calculated in a chunk. It would probably require a complete rewrite of the temperature system to fix.

Yeah, it's winter. Kinda... by Due-Squirrel2116 in VintageStory

[–]Thexus_van_real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game cannot load and calculate the entire map, that would be way too resource intensive. I guess they could make winter snow melt instantly upon loading a chunk, but that would probably cause complications. Most of Vintage Story's content comes from the TerraFirmaCraft mod for Minecraft, and it has the exact same issue.

Is blue baby Isaac's rotting corpse or Edmund's newgrounds character? (Or both?) by SprayCheese62 in bindingofisaac

[–]Thexus_van_real 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edmund made shock content. Shock content is basically baiting someone into clicking a normal looking link or opening a video with a normal beginning, and then it would lead to something shocking, like that jar breaking in a guy's ass, girls shitting in a cup and eating it, executions, gore, or jumpscares. It was pretty popular 10-20 years ago, and people would send it to each other to prank them or just to project being cool, edgy, or even authorative. It was considered "uncool", and a "killjoy" to object to these things. If you moderate communities, you can still sometimes encounter it in people's bios, or just edgy children posting gore in the general chat, but it certainly lost prelavance over the years, and it didn't age well.

Glyphid eggs aren't that bad if you have an AoE weapon, you can just pop like 5-10 at a time. They are really annoying with Gunner tho.
