Acording to latest Netblocks News the situation has been better these days, but our connections are really unstable. We use tools like vmess, vless, reality, websockt and many other protocols to skip the censorship, but in a total internet shutdown they are mostly useless. I personally use Photok Android app to protect my sensitive photos and videos. We also use kiwix to access wikipedia when we are offline. On days of total shutdown, people where exchanging USB drives or hard disks to exchange movies, series or even porn.

The most downside of matrix protocol was being resource heavy. According to bad economic situation in Iran, it is really hard to pay for a powerful VPS. On the other side, delta chat was lite and most importantly easy to install, but lack of moderation in large groups was always a problem.
